The Popularity of Japanese Animation Films and the Distribution of New Japanese Anime with No Hope in sight: China's New Anime Releases in April [Anime Situation of Chinese Otaku].
My name is Baiyuan Longhoam, and I am here to introduce you to all things related to the otaku situation in China.
This time, I would like to introduce trends related to new Japanese anime released in April on Chinese video websites and the situation of Japanese anime movies that are currently doing well in China.
Slow Movement and Unexpected Flames of Fire in April's New Anime Distribution
In China, distribution of new Japanese anime for April has begun, but the atmosphere seems to be as or even less exciting than in the past few seasons.
According to Chinese otaku people, there is no active publicity campaign from distribution platforms in China regarding the distribution of new anime in April, and the renewal schedule remains unstable.
The number of new animations distributed does not seem to be that large, and although "King's Ranking: Treasure Box of Courage," the first season of which became very popular in China, and "Fate/Grand Order the Movie: Camelot," the first and second parts, have already been distributed as new animations, the number of new animations that are being distributed in the Chinese otaku community is not that large. However, the distribution of the hot topics that had been anticipated in the Chinese otaku community has not yet been started.
As for new anime releases in April
As for the new anime in April, there was a rather headacheful incident in which "[Myushino], which should not have been officially distributed in China
This is a rather headache in itself.
It is said that " [Suishinoko] " was a hot new work in China in April because of the popularity of "Kaguya-sama ga Kesshirasai" by the same author, the high quality of the anime PV, and the theme song by YOASOBI.
However, although the original manga has been officially distributed in China, the recent strict regulatory control of the entertainment field in China and the risk of criticism due to Chinese ethical sensibilities have led the Chinese otaku community to half-heartedly accept that it is unlikely that the anime, which attracts attention from non-fans, will be distributed in China. This was the case.
However, once the anime started, the number of viewers in China began to increase, including those who watched the anime through unauthorized channels and watched videos that talked about the work, and furthermore, criticism of the setting of Ai Hoshino, an important character in the beginning of the anime, as "a 16-year-old idol who was unmarried and pregnant" began to roll in, causing a huge firestorm on the Chinese Internet. The Chinese internet was in a state of flames.
The Chinese otaku who were involved in this firestorm commented, "The regular distribution of Japanese anime in China is not very good.
The regular distribution of Japanese anime in China has decreased, but the popularity of Japanese anime has not changed, so there is the problem that the subject matter of the videos and the ease of using them as flame wars has not changed. It seems to me that the flames related to "[Mystery Child]" in China can be said to be an effect of the worldwide popularity of "Mystery Child.
As one would expect, calm people are aghast, but it is a problem that is difficult to avoid in the current Chinese environment, and it makes me glad that there is no distribution of the "[Mysterious Child]" anime in China. If it had been distributed, the distribution platform and official accounts would have been a clear target of attack. ......"
and so on.
In China today, not only Japanese animation, but also other foreign works must pass domestic screening before they can be distributed due to stricter management, and distribution platforms seem to be having a hard time. There have even been cases of new Japanese anime productions that have acquired licenses and created special pages, only to fade out without being distributed.
Some Chinese geeks have commented, "There is practically no time lag with Japan.
The time when we were able to distribute our works with practically no time lag between Japan and China is now a distant memory. We don't know what will happen to the regular distribution of new Japanese anime in the future, as there is no commercial prospect for it.
It seems that there is an air of pessimism about the distribution of new Japanese anime in China today.
