This month, we have "Dagashi" and "Famous Confectionery"! This month's feature is Ken-Elephant's new capsule toys that you can't help but want to eat! Wacky Kaiyama's Latest Gacha Exploration - Episode 75

This issue features Ken-Elephant! Every time we visit Ken-Elephant, we are impressed by how they are able to produce so much within a limited budget.

I am always impressed by the top-class quality of their miniature items that are faithfully reproduced in the industry. Not only do they emphasize the playfulness of their products, such as the fact that some of the parts can be removed, but they often make me chuckle. On the other hand, many capsule toys that are thoroughly made in the style of capsule toys have reached the level of art, and it is no wonder that they have so many fans.

In addition, they hold "KenEle Lagoon" events in various locations to promote capsule toys to as many people as possible, and it can be said that they are leading the recent capsule toys boom.

The other day, I had the opportunity to visit the KenElle Lagoon held at Sendai Station. I would like to start with the latest capsule toys I discovered there.

Dagashi character mascot: 4 types in total, 500 yen

Rare (?) at KenEle! A three-dimensional version of a two-dimensional character! The characters that you have always seen since your childhood have become lively figures.

The lineup consists of four famous dagashi from Yaokin and Yotchan Shokuhin Kogyo, two of the leading manufacturers of dagashi. The enclosed mini book is so big that it can no longer be called "mini. The enclosed mini-book is so large that it can no longer be called "mini." If you open it up and read it, you will find the history and social philosophy of each candy maker printed in great detail, making it an excellent read.

In addition, inside the capsule is another big-size character doll! The full power of the character is so dynamic that you are on the verge of fainting in agony. I was smiling as I looked at them from various angles. Let's start with this one to calm your mind: ......

Umaemon (Umaibo)

Wearing a flashy blue jacket, bright red pants, and a red dotted bow tie, he poses with a microphone in one hand and says, "Yay! That charming guy jumped out in front of us! We can also see his back side, which has been shrouded in mystery until now. It's a strange feeling indeed.

Umaibo comes in a variety of flavors, and I would love to see a figure of each flavor of Umaemon. Please consider it!

Frog Officer (Cabbage Taro)

I can't tell you how many times I licked my index finger and thumb as I ate Cabbage Taro, which became so delicious ....... In the right corner of the package of the wonderful "Cabbage Taro", there is a dandy patrolling frog with a hat over one eye. He is patrolling the right corner of the wonderful "Cabbage Taro" package with a hat over one eye. I honestly don't know what kind of job he is doing, or what he is policing, but he is carrying a baton and a gun, so I guess he is working in a very dangerous area. I don't tolerate anyone who disturbs the order! Watch over the kids and have some snacks in peace! I guess that's what it's all about.

By the way, the origin of the name "Cabbage Taro" is unknown, as there are various theories. Please, officer! First of all, check this out and kellogg.

Don't be lazy~!

The legendary rocker is now three-dimensional! With his purple hair standing on end and an electric guitar in his hand, he provokes the audience! The mischievous expression on his face as he puts one foot on the amp reminds us of the band boom of yesteryear. When the band becomes three dimensional, you can feel their energy directly. The hair style on the back side is like this. I calmly checked. I remember that an athlete got hooked on "Taratara-chanchan yo gekihan" (Don't be lazy! Gekihan!), which became a hot topic and was temporarily hard to get. In many ways, it rocks.

Cut Yocchan.

Is this a squid fairy? I thought the red rope-like thing was designed for the bag, but what is it? Is it a special item?

If you look closely, it looks like it's pulling. ...... Maybe this red rope is the reason why it has been loved for so many years, and why it has won the hearts of children!

The pop and bright worldview of the candy cane is conveyed in three dimensions. This is a must-get item!

Famous Confectionary Miniature Collection 4: 5 kinds, 500 yen

The "Famous Confectionary" series, faithfully reproduced with detailed parts, has been a very popular item since 2020. The enclosed mini book is also filled with the history and product descriptions of each manufacturer. It is also an excellent read.

Before reviewing the fourth installment, let's take a look at the past lineup. The first volume includes "Special Cookies" from Izumiya Tokyo Store, "Ume Boshi Candy & Black Candy" from Eitaro Sohonshiki, "Kaki no Tane" from Naniwaya Seika, "Gaufres" from Kobe Fugetsudo, and "Ebi Senbei Yukari" from Sakakaku Sohon Pu. The second batch includes "Tokyo Peasen" by Eitaro Sohonshiki, "Saika no Jewel: Strawberry Can" by Tomizen Foods, "Fancy Chocolate" by Merry Chocolate Company, "Tarafuku Monaka" by Gokashishi Shirakaba, and "Fugiyose [Blue Round Can]" by Ginza Kikusya. The third round features a large assortment of famous confections from all over Japan, including "Baumkuchen" by Uheim, "Honor no Jintaiko" by Koubai, "Assorted Macaroons" by Dalloyo Japon, "Walnut" by Kamakura Beniya, and "Assorted Jelly" by Jelly no Ie. We are sure that everyone has at least once given or received one of these as a souvenir.

This fourth volume of miniature confections is also highly reproducible and full of playful spirit.

Kameju's Dorayaki

The sight of the neatly packaged dorayaki standing in a straight line in a white box is impressive at first. The box also contains one of the baked dorayaki, which can be served on a prestigious-looking crimson plate! What a fun way to play! It is also nice that it comes in a paper box with a wrapping paper pattern.

Ginza Wakamatsu Anmitsu

This Japanese sweet is made by a long-established maker who is said to have invented "Anmitsu" for the first time. The transparent container for souvenirs is of very high quality. It is made of fine agar, anko (red bean paste), mandarin oranges, and colorful rice cakes. It also contains small cherries and tiny beans, complete with a bottle of molasses and even a spoon. It even comes complete with a bowl to serve them in. It's a perfect package.

Melting Pot Harapeko Labo Koubutsu Wokashi 9-grain collection box (amber sugar)

Opening the lid of the luxurious box, you will find a lineup of colorful sugar confections, each as small as 7 mm in diameter, which can only be reproduced with the utmost technical skill. The box also contains paper dividers and red string for tying! No detail was left out. You can get pink, red, and blue grains. The shape is also slightly different. ...... and I admire their pursuit of realism.

Sanshichi Foods Ningyo-yaki

In a chic yellow-green box, there are cute raccoon dogs, autumn leaves, and other doll yaki! It looks like a downtown souvenir! It also comes with a sleeve with the same pattern as the wrapping paper. 3 of them come in pieces! Put them on a plate and you are done. Enjoy!

Tamaya Sohonten Noshi-Ume

Whoa! Isn't this a famous confectionery from Yamagata Prefecture in the Tohoku region? I like it, it's sour and delicious. The box is filled with noshi-ume! The cute package is also nice! Two Noshi Ume are included. The translucent texture looks just like the real thing. Amazing! The sticker with the bamboo bark pattern is also a nice touch.

I realized that I introduced two items related to sweets this month. Although the items are different, they all bring smiles to our faces. These capsule toys of sweets will naturally bring a smile to your face as you hold them in your hands. This Golden Week, please go out to spin the gacha!
