I have known the Tomorrow studio and Netflix team for a long time. We understand each other's characters, but we have different cultural backgrounds, different entertainment policies, different skills, and different vectors! We were frustrated with each other, and we were even at the point where we thought we couldn't produce overseas anymore! We even went as far as to say, "We can't do overseas production anymore!
It may seem sudden to you, but we had been working on it for a long time. All the companies have finally gotten their act together and we've come this far!
I think this is the last chance for ONE PIECE to make a big step into the world, even if I calculate my life expectancy. If I'm going to do it, I want to supervise it while I'm still working! That's why I started construction on the live-action edition of ONE PIECE in 2016!
I've also been asked to invest a frightening amount of money in the production.
