On Tuesday, July 2, 2019, a commemorative event was held to celebrate the latest AR location-based game app "Harry Potter: The Magical Alliance," which has finally been released.

Scheduled to be released in Japan in the summer of 2019, the latest AR location-based game app "Harry Potter: The Magical Alliance" is a game under the "Portkey Games" label, jointly developed and distributed by WB Games San Francisco and Niantic, Inc. Harry Potter: The League of Magic" was released on June 21 (local time) prior to Japan, and has become a huge hit, ranking first in more than 35 countries and regions and first in "free game" rankings in 45 countries (as of June 30), dominating the global rankings.

On July 2 (Tue.), "Harry Potter: The Wizarding Alliance" finally arrived in Japan, and a large number of media came to cover the event held at SHIBUYA STREAM HALL to commemorate the distribution, showing the high level of attention this film is receiving. The event was also graced by the presence of DAIGO, Rina Ikoma, and voice actor Kensho Ono, all of whom have ties to the "Harry Potter" series and games, as guests.

The event was divided into two parts. The first part began with opening remarks by Masami Takahashi, President and Representative of Warner Brothers Japan, and Satoru Murai, Representative of Niantic, Inc. Tomohiro Tsuchiai, Senior Executive Officer of Warner Bros. Japan, LLC, then introduced the popularity of the 20-year-old Harry Potter series in Japan and the rest of the world, including information on box-office revenues and events held around the world.
