Anisama 15th year anniversary project! Anisama Playback! The 8th "Animelo Summer Live 2012 -INFINITY∞-", the last year of the 2-day event filled with infinite possibilities!

Animelo Summer Live" (hereafter, "Anisama"), the world's largest anime song event that brings together the top artists in the anime song world, will celebrate its 15th anniversary this summer with "Animelo Summer Live 2019 -STORY-" (hereafter, "Anisama 2019").

To commemorate this anniversary year of Anisama, Akiba Research Institute takes a year-by-year playback of past Anisamas!

Let's get excited about "Anisama 2019," which will be held over three days on August 30, 31, and September 1, 2019, by having anime and anime song writers who also participated in those Anisamas talk about their memories of them!

So, the 8th edition is "Animelo Summer Live 2012 -INFINITY∞-", which was the last year of the two-day event and many first-time members showed great potential!

This time, Kenichi Chiba, who witnessed the live performances on both days, will be in charge of the event.

Animelo Summer Live 2012 -INFINITY∞-!

Date: August 25 and 26, 2012

Theme song: "INFINITY -1000 Year Dream" lyrics by Hironobu Kageyama and Masami Okui, music by Tetsuro Oda, arrangement by Hideyuki Suzuki Daichi.

The theme for 2012, the 8th edition of the festival, is "INFINITY∞. This theme was proposed by Ms. Yukari Tamura at the previous year's launch because the "8" in the 8th number resembles "∞" for infinity. The trigger may have been such a trivial matter, but the words "power of infinity" and "infinite possibilities" were incorporated into the theme. That is exactly what "Anisama" symbolized in 2012.

Looking back on 2012, it is not too much to say that JAM Project and Nana Mizuki, two artists who have sung the last two songs of each day in all previous years (except for the all-singing performance) and have been the faces of "Anisama," did not participate. JAM Project gave encouragement to their successors, saying, "I hope for the further development of the anisong world, and this time I will hand over to new artists.

One of the most surprising topics was the new development that Tetsuro Oda, a hit maker of J-POP, would perform the theme song.

Anisama 2012, held under such circumstances, presented great possibilities in the anisong world.

The top performer on the first day was a collaboration between Yukari Tamura and May'n, a dreamlike combination. They performed "Oshiete A to Z" and "Ready Go!" as a medley, which was a gorgeous opening to the anime song festival.

Turning to the second and subsequent acts, there was a lineup of first-time performers. This was another characteristic of the 2012 Anisama. Excluding collaborations and surprises, more than half of the artists making their first appearance on the first day were fresh faces. Listed in order of appearance were Mami Kawada, Zwei, Afilia Saga East, Yui Kaori, StylipS, Iori Nomizu, Sachika Misawa, Eir Aoi, Runa Haruna, PERSONA4 MUSIC BAND, and Konomi Suzuki. The most impressive performance was by Ms. Kawada, who was honestly surprised that this was her first performance in 12 years since her debut, and her guitar in hand as she performed "JOINT" and other representative songs.

LiSA, who has undoubtedly led the anisong scene in the 2010s, was the top performer on the second half of the first day and drew the entire audience to her performance of "oath sign" and "crossing field", As the top performer in the second half of the first day, she gave a stunning performance of "oath sign" and "crossing field," drawing in the entire audience.

Of course, the members who have performed in the past also had a strong presence throughout both days. On the first day, Yuka Minami and a violinist sang beautifully, ALTIMA performed a bubbly stage with Natsuo Okamoto in pink high-leg pants, and ALI PROJECT crawled across the stage to perform "Kyomu Densen" (Evil Dream Contagion). The second day also featured a variety of colorful performances, including Yui Horie, Miku Hatsune, and Tomoaki Ishikawa, who celebrated the 10th anniversary of his debut.

The highlight of the second day of the event was the appearance of many popular male voice actors, as well as first-time performers such as Eri Kitamura, Ray, and Mikako Komatsu. First, ST☆RISH (Takuatsu Terashima, Kenichi Suzumura, Noriaki Taniyama, Mamoru Miyano, Junichi Suwabe, and Hiro Shimono) opened the show with "Maji Love 1000%" and other songs, and then Suzumura and Miyano performed as solo artists, while Taniyama performed as GRANRODEO. Mr. Taniyama also took the stage. Daisuke Ono, dressed in a bright white suit, dazzled everyone with his dandy and sexy dance and singing voice.

And let's not forget that those nine school idols made their first appearance. At that time, they appeared under the name "μ's from Love Live! and since it was still before the TV anime had aired (the first TV anime season aired from January 2013), many people could not imagine the current situation. However, the performance of "Natsuiro Egao de 1,2,Jump!", in which the dancers recreated the dance perfectly with video images in the background, was spectacularly powerful and showed the appeal of the "Love Live! and the hard work of the members were fully felt, and it was a valuable opportunity to showcase the appeal of the "Love Live!

In addition to ST☆RISH and μ's, it was impressive to see many other units that were born from anime and other works. Milky Holmes, Nanamorichu ☆Goraku-bu, and Backward Crawling Squad G all performed on stage, each with their own unique personalities. The activities of voice actors, both male and female, were even more prominent, including those who performed as solo artists.

Also this year, a number of big names appeared as guests. The surprise guest on the first day was Hiroko Moriguchi. Ms. Moriguchi performed a famous song from the "Mobile Suit Gundam" series, and with a look of emotion on her face, she expressed her appreciation for anime songs. Although I now have more opportunities to hear Ms. Moriguchi sing at festivals and on TV programs, I remember being very moved by what she sang on that day.

On the second day, Tetsuro Oda, who composed the theme song for this year's festival, appeared and performed "DAN DAN Heart Fascinating" in collaboration with Maon Kurosaki, Ray, and Mikako Komatsu. He also sang a re-arranged version of "Flame Sadame," the OP theme song of "Armored Trooper Votoms," which he sang under the name TETSU, and said it was the first time for him to sing in public as TETSU, a rare moment that was made possible by "Anisama.

Noboru Uesugi, vocalist of WANDS, was invited to join TETSU in singing "Until the World Ends..." It was the first time for both of them to be on stage together, and it was truly a first for both of them. The audience cheered the surprise and the performance of the song, and many of them sang along with the song. In terms of preciousness, this was one of the best collaborations in the history of "Anisama," and it became a topic of conversation even overseas.

The notable performers who performed the last song, which I mentioned at the beginning of this article, were Ms. Yukari Tamura on the first day and Ms. Minori Chihara on the second day. The charm of Ms. Tamura, who instantly transported the audience into her own worldview, needs no further explanation. She changed her facial expression from the gentleness of "Smile Plumage" to the heat of "Glide to the End of Innocent," and the last song of the first day was "You & Me" with motsu. The heat of the audience united as one is a premium memory only for those who witnessed that day on that stage.

Ms. Chihara was not to be outdone on the second day. She attacked the audience with an intense performance of "ZONE//ALONE" and "TERMINATED," the OP theme songs of "Horizon on the Middle of Nowhere," in succession. The final song was "Paradise Lost," which, as the singer herself said, was a perfect ending to the main part of Anisama 2012.

The last year of the two-day "Anisama" was marked by such a fresh lineup, and in retrospect, it was a milestone to have such an amazing lineup for the first time, and a year that showed us "infinite possibilities.
