Year-end & New Year's visit to "Godzilla"! Shin Godzilla" and "Tamagawa Sengen Shrine" collaborated! The charm, ema (votive picture tablet) set, and tenugui (hand towel) will be on sale from today, the 26th!

The original design of the "Amulet & Ema Set" and "Tenugui (hand towel)" collaborated by "Shin Godzilla" movie and "Tamagawa Sengen Shrine" went on sale today, December 26, 2019 (Thursday).

This year marks the 65th anniversary since the first "Godzilla" movie was released in 1954, and the Hollywood version of the movie "Godzilla: King of Monsters" will be released on May 31, 2019 (Friday), and has been a huge hit worldwide. The third Hollywood version, "Godzilla vs. Kong," is also scheduled for release, marking the 65th anniversary of the birth of "Godzilla" and continuing to evolve.

This time, the "Shin Godzilla" movie released in 2016 and the "Tamagawa Sengen Shrine," where the "forward command post of the Taba battle group" is located in the movie, have collaborated to produce a "charm and ema set" and a "tenugui (hand towel)," a set of goods that will bring good fortune. The "Shin Godzilla" movie will be shown at the Tamagawa Sengen Shrine in Ota Ward, Tokyo, from December 26, 2019 (Thursday).

In the movie "Shin Godzilla," Operation Taba was conducted by the Ground Self-Defense Force to stop Godzilla from landing in Kamakura and invading Musashi-Kosugi. During this operation, the "Taba Battle Group Forward Command Post," a frontline base, was established at the Tamagawa Sengen Shrine on the Tamagawa River in Ota Ward.

Unfortunately, the attack by the Self-Defense Forces tanks gathered at the Maruko-bashi Greenbelt failed to repel the mighty Gojira in "Operation Taba," but the "Tamagawa Sengen Shrine," which served as the command post, was not destroyed (it is not depicted as destroyed in the movie), and thus, it is believed to have been blessed with "protection from disaster" and "repelling evil" as it escaped from the danger of Gojira. The Tamagawa Sengen Shrine has become a popular spot among Godzilla fans as a place where they can escape the danger of Godzilla and be blessed with the good fortune of being "protected from disasters" and "repelled from calamities.
