Enako Wall" was created, but photographers gave way to each other and the event proceeded smoothly! Comic Market 97" 3rd and 4th day cosplayers' report! 2019/12/28-31
Comic Market 97 (C97), the world's largest coterie magazine exhibition, came to a close on December 31, 2019, with a record attendance of approximately 750,000 visitors over the four days, up approximately 20,000 from Comic Market 96.
Starting in 2019, the East Exhibition Hall of Tokyo Big Sight will no longer be available, so the West Exhibition Hall and the newly built South and Aomi Exhibition Halls are being used. In addition, following Comic Market 96, general attendees will be able to enter the exhibition by purchasing a wristband in advance.
In addition, the Tokyo Fashion Town Building (TFT Building) was made available for use as cosplay changing rooms. The use of these rooms started at 8:00 AM, earlier than the 10:00 AM start time of the Comic Market, and measures were taken to prevent overcrowding.
Thanks to these measures, the photo session with Enako, who appeared in the cosplay area on the third day, went more smoothly than in previous years. Many photographers gathered to get a glimpse of Enako, who appeared in the disaster prevention park in the cosplay of "Sword Art Online" Shinon, carrying a "PGM Heckert II". The circle around Enako is also known as the "Enako Wall," and the size of the wall grows larger every year. The staff guided the visitors through the neatly arranged enclosure in advance, and the photo shoot ended smoothly in about an hour.
On the rooftop, the cosplay area was temporarily delayed in order to secure the flow line leading to the newly constructed South Exhibition Hall, resulting in a situation where there was no more space for filming. The problem was resolved by cosplayers giving up their spots and photographers looking for a vacant spot. It can be said that this is only possible at "Comic Market" to see the participants building up the event with each other.
Comic Market" has more to offer than just photography. In this issue, I would like to introduce some cosplayers I met on the 3rd and 4th days of the event.
