The "Raging Season Maidens!" is based on the manga of the same title serialized in Bessatsu Shonen Magazine (Kodansha). Mari Okada, an active anime scriptwriter, wrote the original story, and Nao Emoto of "Soredemo Boku wa Kimi ga Suki" (I Still Love You) created the manga. It is a coming-of-age drama about high school girls who belong to a literary club, and depicts the growth of these girls as they are swept away by their "sexuality. The animation directors are Masahiro Ando and Takuro Tsukada, the character design and chief animation director is Kaori Ishii, and the animation production is by Lay-duce.

The members of the Literature Club are told that the club will be abolished, and they decide to fight to avoid it.
Hitoha, on the other hand, finds another female writer's debut novel in a bookstore she visits to refresh herself.
She asks the editor about it, but is told that it is not realistic, so she decides to discuss it in a chat room.
She says, "I don't want to chat. I want to actually do it."
