Sega Games' masterpiece comes back to life with new excitement! Detailed information on the upcoming "SEGA AGES Columns II" for Switch!

SEGA Games has released more information about its upcoming Nintendo Switch title "SEGA AGES Columns II".

SEGA AGES Columns II" is the second installment in the hit puzzle game series, featuring beautiful jewel graphics. The rules of the game, which require players to line up three or more gems vertically, horizontally, or diagonally and erase them one after another, have been retained, but many new variations of gem designs have been added. Two types of games can be enjoyed: "Flash Columns," a stage-clearing game for one player in which the player erases a predetermined number of gems, and "Competitive Columns," in which the player pushes up the opponent's field by aiming for a chain of gems.

The Nintendo Switch version announced this time includes not only elements such as adjusting the difficulty level and adding network battles and online ranking to enjoy "Battle Columns" online with players nationwide, but also a new mode "Infinity Columns" for one player and "Columns I" that allows the first game to be played as-is. Columns I" is also added. The game is said to be a voluminous title that allows players to enjoy a variety of Columns games to the fullest.

Various elements have been added to the arcade mode!

In Arcade Mode, players can enjoy two types of games, "Flash Columns" and "Competitive Columns," and the Nintendo Switch version includes a stage select function that allows players to start from any of the 70 "Flash Columns" stages, as well as a "Disturbance Element" that causes the floor to rise up and the field to become smaller when erased. The "Skull Cut" function prevents the appearance of "skulls," which are an obstructive element that can cause the floor to rise up and the field to narrow when erased.

In addition, the optional settings include "Face-to-Face Mode," which flips only the field on the 2P side 180 degrees, allowing players to place their Nintendo Switch and play face-to-face.
In addition, the "Stage Design" can be changed so that the field and gem design can be fixed to a gem-only design similar to "Columns I" as well as "Random" as in the original.

Endless play of "Flash Columns"! New "Infinite Columns" mode

In the new "Infinity Columns" game mode, the basic rules remain the same as in the arcade mode "Flash Columns," but the game can be played endlessly instead of stage-clearing style.
After a certain amount of time has passed, a row of gems is added to the bottom row, as if the floor is being raised up, and when a blinking gem added at this time is erased, all gems of the same color disappear.

You can also play "Columns I," the origin of the "Columns" series!

Based on the first game (Mega Drive version), the origin of the "Columns" series, the game features a mode that allows endless play. At the start of the game, you can choose from three BGM tracks.

This is the same content as "Columns" included in the "Paid DLC Pack" of "Yakuza0 Basic Free Application.

A fun extra element, "Jewel Box".

A mode to check the stage clear status of "Flash Columns" in Arcade mode is also included. Depending on the level of achievement, you can view brief profiles of the characters who serve as round girls/round boys in the opening of the "SEGA AGES" series.
