22/7] 7/22 (Mon.) "NANA NIJI FES 2019" at, duo MUSIC EXCHANGE Live Report
On July 22, the third "22/7 day," 22/7 held "NANA NIJI FES 2019" at Shibuya duo MUSIC EXCHANGE in Tokyo. 22/7 is also the MC of "NANA NIJI ROOM," a monthly live broadcast on SHOWROOM. The 11 members appeared on stage at the call of Amatsu Mukai, dressed in gorgeous yukata (yukata) from ...... as formal attire appropriate for a "festival"! Each of them introduced themselves with the pattern they had chosen for the day and some tips on how to dress for the occasion, letting their dainty personalities blossom.
The first half was the variety corner "22/7's Summer Festival," which began to the sound of festival music coming from somewhere. The two teams were divided into "team Parisipi" (Amagi, Kuraoka, Takatsuji, Takeda, and Hanakawa) and "team Sexy" (Umino, Saijo, Shirasawa, Ryoka, Honkaze, and Miyase) to compete in a heated five-person showdown. In the "balloon splitting," in which the pairs hugged each other and broke a balloon between them, Takatsuji and Hanakawa looked like an adorable cat and rabbit playing with each other, while Miyase desperately stretched out and hugged Umino, the tallest in the group, showing how well they got along. In the final battle, "Confession by Fireworks Date," which ended in a tie between the two teams, the participants engaged in a game of delusional situations that began with the sound of fireworks going off. The winner was Shirasawa, who instantly transformed the entire audience into his "younger childhood friend" by saying, "Call me Kanae, not Kana," but he unexpectedly said, "That's not fireworks, that's the sound of a battle starting! Amagi, the second-place finisher, who turned himself into a boy who stands up to protect his loved one, stirred the girlish hearts of the men, resulting in an upset ending. The "team Paris-People" were delighted to receive a prize of a catalog of high-end watermelons. As a penalty game, "team Sexy" gave an enthusiastic performance, expressing with their whole bodies the fireworks that went off with a bang to the sound effects of fireworks, a special skill of Kuraoka's, to end the lively and hilarious performance.
22/7 is 11 members. We have been working with this belief. As the members left the stage and a movie began to play, the audience fell silent. Ryoka, Takatsuji, and Takeda were just staring at the stage of the members who had been selected as one of the eight characters for the audition. The three members, who had all made their debut but had no characters, quietly disappeared during the live performance of the "8-character" song, sometimes taking on the role of shadow narration to liven up the character live performance. They would stand shoulder to shoulder as if they were supporting each other with their "never give up" passion, smiling as much as the eight members at any given moment. And now...
Saijo appeared on the darkened stage with a downcast look on his face. Surrounding him, the 10 members pass by each other as if in an ensemble drama. The eleven members in new costumes reminiscent of an akane-iro sky looked up with dignity. The first performance of the 4th single "Nothing to do for you" was performed for the first time by all the members of 22/7. The intense yet delicate performance and the phrases, which seemed to trace their days of conflict, dramatically led us into the story of the girls as we felt the strength they had regained to be who they were supposed to be. We could not take our eyes off of each and every one of them. Everyone held their breath. Eventually, after the release, a round of applause erupted.
Saijo explained the theme of "loneliness in a group" in this song, saying, "Sometimes we want to do something for someone we love, but we don't know what we can do to help that person, so we end up doing nothing or even hurting them without knowing it. Takatsuji, who was told that she liked the "Reichan Moses" dance in which she appeared from behind to break up the other 10 members, fought back the emotions that were rising in her and said, "I'm so glad that Ainachi (Takeda), Moe (Ryoka) and I split the song with the three of us! She smiled innocently.
The two songs "Yasashii kiokui (tender memories)" and "Shikkaku na Seishun (uncertain youth)" soothed the excitement of the audience. In the gentle smiles they exchanged with each other, the girls' days when they met 22/7 like falling in love sparkled in this fresh medley.
The past "22/7 days" have been a time of sharing various joys. It was on this day a year ago that Honkaze assumed the leadership of the group. I was very surprised (when I was told), but thanks to your words backstage, "It's okay to be the same Chiharu as usual," I was able to come here without being overawed. I want to make July 22nd a day to do something fun," she said to the fans. Will you continue to walk with us?" and delivered his thoughts on behalf of the group.
The live broadcast will be broadcast live on SHOWROOM from here, so "Let's convey the passion of NANANIJI's live to the whole world! He was very excited and said, "Let's tell the whole world about the passion of NANANIJI's live performance! The audience was excited to hear the enthusiastic anthem, "Mirai ga aru ha aru," from the song "Vikaten Musume. The audience shook to the rhythm of the members as they were energized by the fans' encouraging calls.
As the calls for "NANANIJI" replaced the encore, there was a sudden surprise! As their debut song "Boku wa boku hajimetenai" (I didn't exist) was played, a movie telling the audience that 22/7 would be adapted into a TV anime in January 2020 was shown, and the most joyous reaction of the day was heard. The members changed into their live T-shirts and reappeared on stage to be congratulated. Tears welled up from the stouthearted Hofu, and Amagi, with red eyes and trembling voice, expressed her gratitude. Today marks two full years since the announcement of the anime adaptation. We are happy to have achieved our goal since we formed 22/7, but we hope that this is not the goal, but the beginning. Please, we appreciate your support!"
The happy news does not end yet. One of the first information to be released was the announcement that "Anniversary Live 2019" will be held at Mynavi BLITZ Akasaka on September 20, the day of their debut. Last year, as an event for "22/7 Calculating", they packed the same venue with the help of MC Sanshiro, but this time they were determined to make it a success on their own. Saijo, who usually does not open his mouth at MC events, expressed his honest thoughts as if mumbling, "I want to do my best for the anime broadcast without running away from it.
The last number was "Reason Why 11 Gathered" from the first single. The song is acoustic with gently plucked strings, but it is a testament to the bond between the girls and their desire to debut as a full band, and their voices are powerful. The eleven members, lined up side by side, take their next step forward with renewed determination.
The girls were greeted by voices calling out their names and endless applause, and the historical night with a set list of 11 girls standing on stage came to an end. ......, but after the girls left the stage, for the first time, the 11 characters were portrayed in a new way. After the girls left the stage, the music video for the song "Nothing can be done for you" was shown for the first time. The road goes on. The brightness of their eyes opened the way to the future of "11 members + 11 members".
