Shokugan Kit: Panzer Four! I played with "Efty's GARUPAN PURPLE BACK TANK Vol.3 Ichioshi! Shokugan Road Vol.1

Hello everyone! My name is Kariyasu☆, and I will be taking charge of this corner starting this month.
I will be reviewing Shokugan models that I personally like, and I hope to appeal not only to light users who want to play with Shokugan casually, but also to users who want to enjoy "adult Shokugan" by modifying and creating dioramas with them!
In this first installment of our commemorative series, we would like to introduce the "Girls und Panzer the Movie Pull Back Tank vol. 3" currently on sale from EFTIDS!

Girls und Panzer" (hereafter referred to as "Galpan") is a hit anime in which cute girls ride real tanks, shoot shells and run across the land, and grow up through "tank driving," a favorite pastime for young girls! Let's watch the movie, buy the goods, and get addicted to the Galpan swamp, not only for the old Galpanists (I am one of them) who have been following the show since its first broadcast, but also for those who have recently started to take an interest in Galpan!

Group photo of all vehicles. Only the Hetzer has been smudged, so it looks clear (see below).

The contents are random,

Tank IV D (at the time of discovery)

Tank IV H (at the time of discovery)

38(t) Tank B/C (at the time of discovery)

38 (t) Tank B/C (at the time of the goodwill match)

Hetzer specification 38 (t) Kai

Type III Assault Gun F (at the time of discovery)

Type III Assault Gun F (at the time of the goodwill match)

M4 Sherman with 75mm gun

There are 8 types in total. All vehicles are moderately deformed and have a perfect balance of cuteness and coolness.

The only vehicle that needs to be assembled is the Type III Assault Gun F (at the Friendship Match), which requires more decals and stickers, but the other vehicles have only a few parts and can all be completed in a few moments. Also, because it is a pull-back tank, it has tires that are not normally found on tanks, and it runs cute like a Choro-Q. They are hardly noticeable unless viewed from the front, so there is no problem in displaying them and enjoying them.

Beginners are welcome! Easy Detailing

The car is fun enough as it is, but let's make it even cooler with a little work. This time, we will be painting the smudging and the metallic caterpillar (crawler). Both can be done quickly with paint, a fine brush, special solvent, and cotton swabs, so please give them a try!

*Smudging...... is a technique in which enamel-based paint is diluted with a special solvent and poured into the concave areas of a model to darken them and create a three-dimensional effect. Once you experience the sensation of paint flowing smoothly by capillary action, it is inevitable that you will become addicted to it.

Let's try it with Hetzer. The Hetzer's body color is bright and the mold is clear, so just by smudging the paint, a three-dimensional effect was achieved. In addition, I painted the caterpillar with Tamiya acrylic metallic gray. The caterpillars of the tanks in the Galpan series are generally black and do not have a metallic look, but I decided to use this as a modeling effect. After all, tanks are made of steel, so having some metallic parts makes them look more realistic!

For advanced users! Try making a diorama and play with it

A tank needs to be made into a diorama, after all! So, I made a mini diorama based on the scene in the final game of the TV version episode 11, where the Oarai team took a position on top of a hill and covered their tanks with soil to shoot at the Kuromorimine tanks that surrounded the base of the hill.

The following materials were used.

Plastic case base from a 100-yen store

Clay

Tamiya texture paint (sand)

Cotton for handicrafts

Tank IV was smudged and lightly dry brushed, and a flag made by myself with brass wire and paper was attached. In the play, the soil color was quite dark, but this time I painted it lighter so that tank IV would stand out. And as for the background, unfortunately we had to give up outdoor shooting due to continuous bad weather, so we used a background sheet to create a blue sky. Combined with the effect of the explosion smoke (and dust) reproduced with cotton, it should look like a battle scene. ......

*Dry Brush...... is a technique where the brush is dipped in the paint just before it dries and placed on the convex parts of the model to create a three-dimensional effect. Be careful not to overdo it, as it tends to make the entire model whitish.

So, what do you think? If you don't have the time, skill, or money to buy a full-scale plastic model, you should try ....... If so, why don't you try playing with Shokugan? The greatest charm of Shokugan is that you can buy them in bulk and make them quickly and easily on your days off. See you next month!
