M.A.O., Rika Tachibana, Momo Asakura and others took the stage! The first day of the stage greeting report for the theater version of the anime "Giant Mushroom Archipelago," which opens in theaters on January 10, has arrived!
To commemorate the January 10, 2020 screening of the theatrical version of the anime "Giant Mushroom Archipelago," a stage greeting was held at Shinjuku Wald 9 in Tokyo on the opening day.
The "Giant Mushroom Archipelago" is an anime work based on the popular manga of the same name that is serialized on the web manga service "Mangacross" and receives over 1.1 million PV per month.
During a school trip, a plane crashes and the group ends up on an island ruled by giant bugs. In order to escape the onslaught of bugs, the main characters must risk their lives in a story of survival. ......
The cast, including M.A.O. (Mutsumi Oribe), Rika Tachibana (Chitose Naruse), and Momo Asakura (Mami Miura), took the stage at the opening day stage greeting and talked about their most memorable scenes. The event report has arrived and is presented below.

Immediately after the screening, the cast members were welcomed by thunderous applause from the audience, and the MC led the talk, reflecting on the contents of the film. They expressed their surprise that some of the audience had already seen the film more than twice, despite it being the first day of the festival.
M.A.O., who played the lead role in the film, said, "I am so happy that you all can finally see it on this big screen! Rika Tachibana, who was involved in a theater production for the first time, said, "I was so excited to see that (powerful) image in this size! I wanted to monitor everyone's reactions. I was filled with joy that so many people were able to see it on the first day," she said frankly. Momo Asakura said, "I think that a work like Giant Mushroom Archipelago is even more fun to watch on a big screen," and the audience nodded in agreement.
When the topic turned to the introduction of the characters played by each actor, Mutsumi Oribe, who plays the core character Mutsumi Oribe, who has a wealth of knowledge about insects, said, "I could sympathize with her in many ways, such as the fact that she talks too much about what she likes. However, since I know so much about insects, I had to explain a lot of lines, so I tried my best to convey my feelings in a way that was easy to understand.
Rika Tachibana, who played the role of Chitose Naruse, Mutsumi Oribe's best friend, said, "She is the class committee chairperson and has a clumsy personality that prevents her from following the rules of the day even in critical situations. But despite her personality, she has a gap in that she wears surprisingly flashy underwear! (Laughter)," she said, drawing laughter from the audience. Momo Asakura, who portrayed Mami Miura, a fledgling idol, said, "I thought she was cute and timid, but I also felt her humanity, that she would not hesitate to use any means to protect herself. She is like a roller coaster, and I was swept along with her, so it was difficult to create the right feelings for her.
M.A.O. mentioned a line she uttered during a scene in which she defeated a giant insect: "I felt that Mutsumi's good nature and her feelings for insects were all packed into the scene. She spoke. Although the main focus of the film tends to be on insect-related panic and horror, the humanity that comes through in the dialogue and words is certainly one of the charms of the film.
Rika Tachibana, who picked up the scene in which Chitose, who took Mutsumi's place, is grabbed by a giant insect, said, "When an insect that big comes at you, you can't protect your best friend, even if she is in danger. It showed Chitose's love for her friend. I can also cherish my best friend in any crisis situation. But I don't know if I can do it on the spur of the moment," she says.
Momo Asakura cites a scene that symbolizes Mami's "no-means-all" attitude. She says, "In order to protect herself, she physically forces herself on another female student. I had never played such a bold character, and I was careful to imagine the feelings hidden behind it and to play it delicately," she said. The audience seemed to understand what she was trying to do as she recalled the first challenge in her career.
After a commemorative photo, each of them gave a message to the audience. Momo Asakura said, "After such a terrifying experience in a movie theater, you will feel really happy to be in the real world. But I hope you will watch it again and again and be on the edge of your seat," she said with a smile. Rika Tachibana said, "Watching Giant Bugs on the big screen made me think, 'Even bugs have their cool points. ......If you shake your head now, please watch it three more times! (laugh)," he said, eliciting laughter from the audience.
Finally, M.A.O. said, "I hope you will watch it again and again because I think you will enjoy the powerful, sexy, grotesque ...... variety of emotions in this work. Mutsumi explains the characteristics of insects and how to deal with them, which can be used in real life, so please memorize them and take them home! The message also showed Mutsumi's commitment to the setting of the film. The stage greeting ended with applause from the audience.
