PS4's "New Sakura Wars" reveals the characters of the Shanghai Hagekidan, the main characters' rivals.

Sega Games has revealed the characters of the Shanghai Hagekidan, the protagonists' rivals in the PlayStation(R)4 software "New Sakura Wars," which will be released on Thursday, December 12, 2019.

New Sakura Wars" is a dramatic 3D action adventure set in the fictional "Taisho Era" imperial capital of Tokyo, and follows the exploits of the "Teikoku Kagekidan" as they fight against evil. The main character design is by Kubo Taito, known as the author of the manga "BLEACH" serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (published by Shueisha). The music is by Kouhei Tanaka, who has provided many songs for previous titles in the series. The story will be composed by Ishiijiro, who is active in a variety of media including games, TV animation, and movies.

Character Introduction

Yang Xiaolong (CV: Yuichiro Umehara)

Captain of the "Five Divine Dragons" of the Shanghai Hagekudan, he is 18 years old and a young man who is the captain of the Shanghai Hagekudan.
He is a young man who serves as the captain of the Shanghai Hammering Brigade. He is a hot-blooded young man who is straightforward and says whatever comes into his mind. He speaks clearly with a smile on his face, so even sarcasm and bad words have no malice in them.
In battle, he boasts an extremely high attack power with his fighting skills. In everyday life, he is a skilled cook who is known as the "Flame Rice Master," serving up his exquisite fried rice.

Huang Yuyi (CV: Uesaka Sumire)

A 16-year-old member of the Shanghai Hwagetan's Five Divine Dragons.
She is a bright, honest, and active girl with a winning spirit. She is a light magician who boasts of her outstanding physical strength among the Shanghai Hagekidan. She has a cheerful personality, but in her heart, she loves the "Hagekidan" more than anyone else, and because of this, she is harshly criticized by the "Imperial Hagekidan" for their poor performance.
She is also a senior member of the Kagekidan, and is a good friend to Sakura Amamiya, who never gives up and continues to work hard.

I am very honored to have been asked to work on the new "Sakura Wars" game.
Actually, I didn't have the game at the time, but I liked the pictures and had the strategy book.
I had also seen the animation and the movie, so I designed the clothes while keeping in mind the atmosphere I felt from the works at that time.
I have never really drawn Chinese clothing before, but I really enjoyed designing it while mixing in fantasy.

New Sakura Wars" Development Team

One of the main themes of "New Sakura Wars" is the "World War of the Kagekidan," and in addition to the Imperial Kagekidan, several other Kagekidan will also appear. In order to portray a large number of these groups, we asked different creators to design characters for each city in order to create attractive and varied characters.
The Shanghai Wuxi Dan appears as a familiar presence (rival) to the Imperial Wuxi Dan, and since they are an active and energetic group, we asked Yukiko Horiguchi, who specializes in such characters, to design the Shanghai Wuxi Dan.
Since the Shanghai Hagekidan is the Hagekidan of the city closest to the Imperial Capital, we wanted to express a different personality from the Imperial Hagekidan, so we asked her to strongly emphasize cultural and ethnic characteristics and incorporate motifs and designs that are easy to visualize into the design.

Lingzhi fighter "Wang Long

This is the Reiko fighter plane driven by the members of the Shanghai Hwagetai.
Its aggressive exterior is reminiscent of a dragon, and its distinctive feature is the fire-covered martial arts attacks that are unleashed by the light movements of its passengers.
