SEGA Games has announced details of the upcoming "SEGA AGES Sonic the Hedgehog 2" for the Nintedo Switch. This title will be exclusively available for download and will only be available on the Nintendo eShop. The price is 999 yen (tax included).

Sonic the Hedgehog 2" is the second title in the "Sonic" series released on the Mega Drive in 1992. Sonic and Dr. Eggman battle it out on West Side Island, a place that thrives on the power of a stone called the Chaos Emerald. In addition to the "Spin Dash," a technique used by Sonic to spin around at high speed, gather power, and accelerate in an instant as he opens up, this title also marks the first appearance of Tails, a well-known character in the series. The port of this title for the Switch will be "SEGA AGES Sonic the Hedgehog 2.

According to the information released, this title will feature "Original Mode," which faithfully recreates the Mega Drive version; "Ring Keep Mode," which allows players to start the game with 10 rings as Sonic's life substitute and halves the number of rings that fly off when he takes damage; and "Super Sonic Mode," in which Sonic takes on a golden form and gains overwhelming strength. The game also features three basic modes, including "Ring Keep Mode," which halves the number of rings that fly off when Sonic takes damage, and "Super Sonic Mode," in which players can experience the golden form of Sonic and his overwhelming strength. Also included is the special "Knuckles in Sonic 2" mode, which can be played by inserting a "Sonic the Hedgehog 2" cartridge into the Mega Drive version of "Sonic & Knuckles. All stages of this title can be played with Knuckles, and it seems that you can go to places that you could not reach with Sonic.
