Opening Ceremony for the World Cosplay Summit 2019! 78 cosplayers from around the world perform

The opening ceremony for the World Cosplay Summit 2019, one of the world's largest cosplay events, was held on July 26, 2019, at a venue in Tokyo. The event featured Tokumaru Oguri, chair of the executive committee, and 78 cosplayers (*two absent) who won the qualifying rounds of cultural events from around the world.

The 17th edition of the World Cosplay Summit 2019 is an event to promote manga and anime through cosplayers both domestically and internationally. The "World Cosplay Championship in TOKYO" will also be held to determine the top cosplayers who have won the preliminary contests from 40 countries and regions around the world.
