In addition, local governments with ties to Kyoto Animation works have also started fundraising activities. Iwami Town, Iwami-gun, Tottori Prefecture, where "Free!" was filmed, has set up donation boxes at 10 locations in the prefecture as well as at the prefecture's Tokyo headquarters. Ogaki City, Gifu Prefecture, where the movie "The Shape of Voices" was filmed, has also set up a donation corner.

U.S. animation distribution company Sentai Filmworks has launched a crowdfunding campaign to support Kyoto Animation. As of 18:00 Japan time on July 25, the company had raised $2,177,490 (235.43 million Japanese yen).
