The fourth additional content for Switch's "FE Fuuka Yukigetsu" will be distributed on February 13, 2020. A side story featuring a fourth class, the "Ashwolf Class (Wolf Class)," will be developed.

Nintendo has announced details of the "Soot and Darkness Chapter," the fourth additional content for the currently available Nintendo Switch exclusive title "Fire Emblem: Fuuka Yukigetsu" ("FE Fuuka Yukigetsu"), a side story. In order to play this content, the "Expansion Pass" (2,500 yen [tax included]) for this title must be purchased.

FE: Fire Emblem" is the latest title in the popular "Fire Emblem" simulation series, of which 17 titles have been produced since the first title was released in 1990. In the continent of Fodra, where the Empire of Adrasteia, the Holy Kingdom of Fergus, and the League of Leicester are all concentrated, the main character is invited to teach at a military academy in the Garg-Mak Abbey, where he teaches and guides students from various backgrounds.

In the side story "Chapter of Soot and Darkness," a place called "The Abyss" that exists under the Abbey of Garg-Mak is introduced. In this place where those who are forced to live in seclusion gather, the main characters meet Ulis, Constanze, Balthasar, and Hapi, and learn that they are students of the fourth class, "Wolfcrusade," following the Black Eagle, Blue Lion, and Golden Deer. They appear to be player characters.

In the movie currently being released, we can see the dialogue between the main characters and the new characters, as well as battle scenes with the enemies. The video shows that Balthazar's "Vajra" is very similar to the Hero's Legacy, and that Constanze uses black magic-like techniques while riding on a horse (a type of occupation that does not exist in the main game).

The side stories are completely independent content, and the progress of the main story will not be carried over, and save data will be created separately. The story unfolds in a system that differs from the game cycle of the main story, in which the player instructs students and takes on challenges at the end of the section, and the members who can go into battle seem to be fixed. The Abyss, a place where those who cannot live under the light of day arrive

The side story takes place in a place called "The Abyss," which lies beneath Garg-Mak. The story takes place in the early stages of the main "Cadet School. One day, accompanied by Claude, who had seen a suspicious figure, the protagonist, the heads of the three classes, and several students enter the abbey's basement through a loophole. There, they found several passages and compartments.

There has long been a rumor among the students of the abbey that a city named "Abyss" is spreading beneath Garg-Mak. Abyss is a place where those who are forced to live in seclusion end up. The Abyss and its inhabitants are real, and the Holy Church of Seiros knows this and has continued to tolerate it. In this place, where the laws of the earth do not apply, the protagonists meet a group of young people who claim to be students of the "Fourth Class.

The fourth class, "Wolfcrusade Class".

Four young men claim to be students of the fourth class, "Wolfcrusade," which is held in secret in Abyss. They were also former students of the military academy who had lost their place on earth for various reasons. They say that the peace of Abyss is threatened by the recent frequent invasions of bandits and mercenaries from the ground. With no protection expected from the Knights of Ceiros, the members of the "Ash-Wolf Class" lead their gang of misfits to confront the invaders in order to protect their own place and the weak inhabitants of Abyss. The protagonists, who call themselves "the class," but have no leader, are assigned to help them, and soon encounter a truth that has been erased from the stage of history.

Game cycle that differs from the main story

The save data for the side story "Soot Darkness Chapter" will be independent from the progress of the main story "FE Fuuka Yukigetsu" and will not be carried over. When starting the side story, the appearance and name of the main character, the difficulty level (Normal/Hard), and the mode (Classic/Casual) are determined. The basic game cycle in the main story of "Fuka Yukigetsu" was to prepare for the "assignment sortie" that awaits you at the end of that section (month), while instructing and interacting with the students of your own class within the military academy.

On the other hand, the side story that unfolds in the "Abyss" at the bottom of the earth unfolds under a different game cycle from that of the main "Fuka Yukigetsu" game. In the main story, it is possible to recruit students from other classes into your own class, but in the side story, you must fight through the battle with a fixed number of members. Playing in "Classic Mode," in which fallen comrades are not revived, will make the battles more tense. The battle map also has many special tricks, and the difficulty level is a little higher than in the main story, making it a "tough" game.
