TV anime "Fruits Basket" 2nd season will air in Spring 2020! Special PV with advance footage also released!

It was announced that the second season of the TV anime "Fruits Basket" will be aired from spring 2020 on TV Tokyo, TV Osaka, and other TV stations. In addition, a digest of the 1st season and a special PV showing an advance video of the 2nd season were also released.

Fruits Basket" is a popular girls' manga series written by Natsuki Takaya and serialized in "Hana to Yume" (Hakusensha) from 1998 to 2006. The manga sold more than 30 million copies worldwide and was adapted into a TV anime for the first time in 2001 for the TV Tokyo network, and a stage adaptation in 2009. another" has been serialized on the web since September 2015, and the total number of copies of the comics (three volumes already published) has exceeded 550,000.

Last April 2019, the series was re-animated with a new staff and cast, with the first season airing on TV Tokyo and other TV stations, and its sequel, the second season, is set to air this spring in April.

The story begins with a high school girl, Tohru Honda, who has lost her parents and lives with her classmate Yuki Kusama and her relatives by chance. However, the Kusama family, who are "possessed by the Mononokai of the twelve signs of the Chinese zodiac," have a secret: when they are embraced by the opposite sex, they transform into the Mononokai that possessed them. The story of this secret and the troubles and conflicts that arise from it unfolds in this film.

A special PV was also released to commemorate the decision to air the second season. The digest video of the 1st season, which focuses on the conflicts of the Kusama family, such as extreme love and rejection from the family and bullying at school, and the preliminary video of the 2nd season can be seen.
