LOVE LIVES!" from μ's, "Love Live! Sunshine! Aqours, Saint Snow, and "Nijigasaki Gakuen School Idol Club," whose TV anime adaptation has just been announced, have gathered for "Love Live! Series 9th Anniversary Love Live! festival" was held at Saitama Super Arena on January 18 and 19, 2020. Here is a report on the first day of the festival.

Before the festival started, the BGM of "Love Live! series music played, the audience seemed to be already ready for the festival. When the opening movie was played, the audience's voltage rose even higher.

The top performer was Aqours, who sang "Mieteki Horizon," a song released in September of last year and performed at the live for the first time.

Taking the baton from Aqours was Nijigasaki Gakuen School Idol Club (hereafter "Nijigaku"). First, the nine members performed "TOKIMEKI Runners". After reporting the decision of the TV anime adaptation announced at the 1st live of Nijigaku a month ago, they went on to the customary self-introduction.

This call and response has been a tradition since μ's, but since it was a festival, I thought it must be the first time for many of the audience ......, but they all had a perfect response. By the way, the most important feature of this unit is that it is a unit that focuses on solo activities. From this point on, it was Nijigaku's solo stage.

Four members sang in Day 1. First, Akuri Onishi (Ayumu Uehara) sang "Yume e no Ippo" (One Step Toward Dream) in a straight voice, expressing the hard work and earnestness of Ayumu as she moved forward step by step. Ayumu herself was represented. Chiemi Tanaka (who plays Rina Tennoji) sang "Dokipipo☆Emotion" with cute dance moves, which excited the audience. It was also emo to see the Nijigaku members in school uniforms holding bonbons and cheering the audience on (*and they changed back into their original stage costumes right afterwards!) ). Next up was Akari Kito (playing the role of Kanata Omi). The always sleepy Kanata sang "I wish I could go to the Sleeping Forest," a slow, quiet song like a lullaby, not necessarily suited for live performance, but I realized how amazing she was at drawing the audience in with her singing ability. The last of the Nijigaku solos, which were up and down and in a sense unique, was "Starlight" by Miyu Kubota (played by Karin Asaka). It must be difficult to sing while dancing so intensely, but she performed while exuding a firm sexiness that held the gazes of the approximately 30,000 people in attendance. The last song of the rainbow school was "Love U my friends" with everyone on the trolley. It was a finish to express their gratitude.

Next was "Love Live! Sunshine! Sunshine! CYaRon! (Chika Takami, Yoh Watanabe, Ruby Kurosawa) showed a cute stage with the royal pop tunes, followed by AZALEA (Kanan Matsuura, Diamond Kurosawa, Hanamaru Kunikida) who appeared on the trolley at the back of the audience. From there, they headed toward the main stage. After the electro-pop performance to enliven the audience, Guilty Kiss (Riko Sakurauchi/Yoshiko Tsushima/Yoshiko Obara/Mari Obara) appeared on stage last. They sang "Kowareyasuki" with their fists in the air as flames rose from the stand mics, and it was the coolest song ever.

After each unit sang two songs each, each fully displaying their unique characteristics, the next two to appear were the sister unit Saint Snow, a duo that has a strong bond with Aqours throughout the story. Asami Tano (playing Seira Kazuno) and Hinata Sato (playing Ria Kazuno) were like a mass of singing talent, pounding out "SELF CONTROL!!!" and "Believe again". and "Believe again", and then they firmly passed the baton to the next Aqours.

Aqours' performance was a flamboyant one. First of all, a large ship appeared - the same ship that appeared at the Tokyo Dome also appeared this day. This time it was the Aqours ship 9th Anniversary, with the number 9 floating on its sails. They started the song with "Even if it's a star we can't reach" and sang "Let's shine together! the ship with everyone on board moved forward in a sea of light. The sight was incredibly powerful, and the boat was moving so high that I wondered what it would look like from above.

Anju Iha said, "Aqours will soon celebrate its 5th anniversary. We will never forget the many thanks and love we have received, and we will run through it," she said emphatically, and then performed "Aozora Jumping Heart. The stairs on the main stage glowed blue, and silhouettes of the nine members in front of them floated in the air. The last song of Aqours was "Kimi no Kokoro wa Shining Terukai (Your Heart is Shining)" which they sang saying "This is an important song for us. The last group to perform was μ's, whose last live was at Tokyo Dome on March 31 (Thursday) and April 1 (Friday), 2016, making this their first live performance in about four years. Considering that more and more fans may have never seen the stage live, they are now legendary.

After all, they have overturned all conventional wisdom in the history of anime, and when I got my hands on their debut song, there were hardly anyone around me who knew them. The drama of their rise from such a lowly stage to the top with the involvement of their fans, synchronized with the work's theme of "a story that will come true for everyone," made it an explosive hit (I believe). And with that debut song "Bokura no LIVE Kimi to no LIFE," the stage for μ's began, and it was hot!　Just the fact that the nine of us were standing there was like a miracle, and the expressions on each of our faces seemed to be overflowing with some kind of emotion as the members who had gone their separate ways were reunited.

The audience was excited to hear Emi Nitta (played by Honoka Kosaka) say, "It's been a long time, we are μ's. We have gathered once again to celebrate our 9th anniversary and would like to explode 9 years of thanks and congratulations. The chorus was a mixture of nostalgia and embarrassment, but as I mentioned at the beginning, I realized that it all started here.

As Nitta-san said, this live concert was to express our gratitude. Riding on a trolley, they went close to the audience and performed a medley of TV anime songs. The audience enjoyed this with the biggest smiles on their faces.

The last song they chose was "Snow halation," which was the first time μ's performed at Saitama Super Arena. And it was snowing on this day, too. I felt something fateful about that, and "Snow halation" sung with snow falling on the venue as well was an unforgettable sight to behold.

In her closing speech, Kyoki Inami of Aqours said, "It was the best" with emotion, and I think that was the sentiment of everyone in the audience. The next event will be the 10th anniversary, and I don't want it to stop just yet. I do not want this "Love Live! series, I can't wait to see what the future holds.
