The final volume of the original "Gintama Gintama Vol. 77" was released today, August 2 (Fri.), and it was announced that "Gintama the Movie" has been decided to be produced.


Gintama" is a popular comic series serialized in "Weekly Shonen Jump" (Shueisha) by Hideaki Sorachi, which has sold more than 55 million copies in total. Although the series was announced to end in September 2018, it is still being published in 2019, switching from "Weekly Shonen Jump" to "Shonen Jump GIGA 2019 WINTER" and "Gintama Official App". The work continued to be serialized persistently while switching the media in which it was published.

Until the final episode on June 20, 2019 (Thursday), there were three announcements of the final episode, and even the delivery of the final episode was postponed, which was an unusual situation that became a major topic of conversation. In March, just before the end of the series, the production of a completely new anime was announced at the "Gintama Silver Festival 2019 (tentative)"!
