On January 25, 2020, the first official website of Zero Jikisha, a production company led by Leiji Matsumoto, a manga artist known for "The Galaxy Express 999" and "Space Pirate Captain Harlock," and his wife, Miyako Maki, was launched.

Manga artist born on January 25, 1938. Born in Kurume City, Fukuoka Prefecture (he spent his childhood in Kokura City), he began drawing pictures at the age of six, and at the age of nine, he published a fateful book ("Shinpo-jima" and "Tsuki Sekai Gentleman", both authored by Osamu Tezuka. At the age of 9, he started drawing manga after an encounter with a fateful book ("New Glorious Island" and "Gentlemen of the Moon World," both written by Osamu Tezuka).

After graduating from high school, she worked at a bank for about two years, but left the bank due to family business reasons. Started drawing manga while helping the family business.
He made his debut in 1957 with "Mother Love Waltz. In the 1960s, when the first editions of girls' magazines continued to appear, he worked for "Ribon" and "Margaret" (both published by Shueisha), "Shojo Friend" and "Nakayoshi" (both published by Kodansha). Later, she expanded her writing field to include ladies' comics and youth magazines, and published many works, including "Akujo Bible" (original story by Etsuko Ikeda), which was made into a TV drama.
His representative works include "Maki no Kuchibue," "Ribon no Waltz," "Akijo Bible," and "Tale of Genji.


■Katsumi Itabashi Profile
Mecha designer born on January 28, 1951. Born in Itabashi Ward, Tokyo. Originally an assistant to Leiji Matsumoto, he became a mecha designer for the movie "The Galaxy Express 999" after working as an office worker for about four years. Since then, he has worked on many of Leiji Matsumoto's manga and video works as a mecha designer.
His major publications include "Zero-dimensional Mechanical Travels" (co-authored by Matsumoto Leiji) and "How to Draw SF Mecha Starting from the Leiji Meter.
