Animelo Summer Live" (hereafter, "Anisama"), the world's largest anime song event that brings together the top artists in the anime song world, will celebrate its 15th anniversary this summer with "Animelo Summer Live 2019 -STORY-" (hereafter, "Anisama 2019").

To commemorate this anniversary year of Anisama, Akiba Research Institute takes a year-by-year playback of past Anisamas!

Let's hear from anime and anime song writers who participated in the Anisama back then, as well as their memories, and get excited about Anisama 2019, which will be held over the three days of August 30, 31, and September 1, 2019!

So, for our 12th edition, we will take a look at "Animelo Summer Live 2016 TOKI-TOKI", where historical moments were born throughout the three days.

This time, we'll be looking at young artists who are now in their early 20s. This review is written by Mikoto Tomoyasu, a young writer of the native anisong generation, who is now in her early twenties! She looks back on the memorable stage that triggered her strong yearning for Anisama and Saitama Super Arena with a fresh touch!

I had been aware of the "Animelo Summer Live" event itself since 2009, but I attended the event for the first time in 2017. The "Animelo Summer Live 2016 TOKI-TOKI" was a big part of how I came to love anime songs and Anisama, and I now check out a wide range of anime and anime songs as well as 2.5 dimensional works.

It was spring 2017 when I heard from a friend about the collaboration "Komm, süsser Tod - Sweet Death, Come Here / Ayaho Takagaki & Saori Hayami feat. Junichi Sato (fhána)" performed on DAY 2 of that year and impulsively bought the live BD of DAY 2. The first time I got the live BD of Anisama, I first watched this one song. Then I replayed it again from the opening and finished watching the bonus video in no time (the total recording time of the BD is over 6 hours!). ). Most of the songs were new to me, but I liked many of them, and most of all, I really enjoyed watching them!

In a typical "festival" live event with a large number of performers, each artist has a fixed amount of time to perform, and there is not much collaboration among the performers.

At Anisama, however, the event begins with an opening movie based on the year's theme, followed by a lively performance interspersed with special collaborations and surprise artists, and ends with all the performers joining together to sing the theme song. Sometimes a large number of dancers and stringed instrumentalists join in, sometimes the artists ride on a trolley and move around the large venue in all directions, and the full course of ani-song can be enjoyed.

I've already said a lot about the full course, but this time I'd like to take a look back at some of the special collaborations that often appear in the full course.

In 2016, when a total of 65 groups performed, the largest number in Anisama history to date, the event opened with an opening collaboration between His Excellency Demon and GRANRODEO. GRANRODEO, who had graced the last year's festival as the grand finale, became the bridge to 2016, performing "Ai wo Torimodose! with Damon Hakuji, who was coming to Anisama for the first time. The three days of this year's festival had a strong rock flavor, and as if in anticipation of this, the venue was set ablaze in red.

The unit "every♥ing" performed by Erii Yamazaki and Kido Kabuki, followed by Yuka Aisaka, who was performing at Anisama for the first time, and the second collaboration group was "Koroazu" aka Azusa Tadokoro, who was also performing for the first time. i☆Ris has been a regular collaborator since 2015, and after their own performance, they performed "Pokemon" medley with Rika Matsumoto, who made a surprise appearance, and bless4. The song "Pokémon" was performed by the "Pokémon" medley.

Other collaborations in DAY1 included Maon Kurosaki feat. TRUSTRICK, ZAQ feat. Yosuke Yamamoto, Yosuke Yamamoto feat. Shigemi Tamaki, Rie Murakawa x Yuka Aisaka, and KOTOKO x ALTIMA, and the flow from guitarist Yosuke Yamamoto's instrumental "The The flow from the instrumental "The Beginning" (ED of the TV anime "Concrete Revolutio: Choujin Fantasy") by guitarist Yosuke Yamamoto was particularly outstanding. The set list from there, which included ZAQ feat. Yosuke Yamamoto "Katararezutomo" - ZAQ "Wracked Lamentations", "hopeness" - Yosuke Yamamoto feat. series, with the exception of "hopeness," the OP song of the TV anime "Red Shell Pandora.

INSIDE IDENTITY" (ED of TV anime "Chuunibyou Datte Koi ga Kitai") sung by Rie Murakawa and Yuuka Aisaka was also the theme song of the TV anime "12 Years Old," in which Murakawa's "Sweet Sensation" was used as the OP theme song. ～The song is a connection to "a song about the second year of junior high school" from the TV anime "12 years old. The audience was very excited and the second half of the show was even more energetic.

This kind of attention to detail and attention to the setlist, which makes anime fans "grin" unintentionally, is another charm of Anisama, and seems to have further emphasized the festive atmosphere of the festival.

The last song was "CYBER CYBER" by ALTIMA, a unit that originated from Anisama. The artists who appeared at the festival appeared again to bring the event to a close together, creating a spectacle that transcended the boundaries of labels to create the best stage possible, a spectacle that is truly unique to Anisama.

DAY 2 started with a medley by B.B. Queens with B-O-P. "We Are B.B. Queens" and B.B. Queens' debut song "Odoru Pompokolin" immediately created a sense of unity at the venue. The Kita-Uji Quartet's "Tutti!" from TRUE's "DREAM SOLISTER" also on this day. The theme song combo of the TV anime "Hibike! Euphonium" theme song combo, and "Plug in your ears," featuring surprise artists Yashiko Ishida and Rui Nagai from the voice actress unit Earphones! ~Otome no Policy" and others, the setlist was centered around anime works from the beginning of the show.

After the intermission, fhána performed two songs, "Niji wo Kenshitatarete" and "calling," followed by "Toki Koki Mumu Uta" (OP of the TV anime "CLANNAD: AFTER STORY") by Lia x fhána. It is well known that "CLANNAD" is the work that led to the formation of fhána, and the collaboration between Lia and fhána to perform the theme song, which also perfectly matches the 2016 theme "TOKI-TOKI," was exquisite. Incidentally, the 2016 Anisama logo was designed by fhána's Junichi Sato, so you may enjoy this fhána part more deeply if you watch it with that in mind.

The collaboration for Day 2 was "Komm, süsser Tod ~A sweet death, come" (insert song for "Neon Genesis Evangelion: The End of Evangelion Air/Magokoro wo Kimini ni") by Ayaka Takagaki and Saori Hayami feat. Ms. Takagaki majored in voice at a music college, and Ms. Hayami has been exposed to various kinds of music and singing since her childhood. Their voices can be heard in the TV anime series "Sora no otoshimono," "TARI TARI," and "Masked Noise," but for this Anisama, Sato joined them to cover the classic "Eva" song, making for a dream-like collaboration. The soft and beautiful harmonies were pleasantly resonant.

Muscle Shoujo Obi and angela, who also performed as the last performer, started the last day with "Mixuna Hazardous," followed by "Mottoke! Sailor Fuku" by Yui Kaori & petit milady (surprise artist Erabalesi also recreated the OP in cheerleader's style!) ), Numakura Aimi and Mimori Suzuko who covered "Believe," and ALI PROJECT feat. petit milady who took the stage in hanakai-style costumes.

The finale of each of the three days was the theme song "PASSION RIDERS" by the tag team of Aki Hata (lyrics) and Q-MHz (writing and arranging), and the fact that the artists in the show were singing happily side by side was, in a sense, a special collaboration.

In addition, Maya Ayukawa, who made a surprise appearance, sang "Z, Koku wo Koete" and Girls Dead Monster's "Crow Song" was performed for the first time in 2010, and the 2016 Anisama, true to its title, was marked by a number of historical moments.

Every year, Anisama is filled with many stories, and a lot of thought goes into the composition and direction of every performance. The appeal of Anisama is that you can enjoy imagining what kind of background led up to the event.

This year's "Animelo Summer Live 2019 -STORY-," now in its 15th year, also features a music video for the theme song featuring actress Ayane Kinoshita. What kind of story will we see at Saitama Super Arena on the day of the event? For now, we just can't wait for that day.
