Gundam Cafe Akihabara opened in front of JR Akihabara Station on Saturday, April 24, 2010, as an official cafe for fans of the well-known "Gundam" series of anime and plastic models. In addition to drinks such as "Jaburo Coffee," which is inspired by the image of the area near "Jaburo," an important base in the Gundam series, the store offers a food menu inspired by the world of the Gundam series, such as "Red Comet," a pasta dish inspired by Zaku, a character exclusive to Char.

According to the store's website, "The store will be reborn in July 2020, approximately four times larger than before, to celebrate its 10th anniversary this year, and we are planning measures to make the world of Gundam even more enjoyable than before. In conjunction with the renewal, the current "Gundam Cafe Akihabara" will be temporarily closed from Monday, March 23 due to construction, and is scheduled to reopen around July.
The reopening will be announced on the official Gundam Cafe website in the near future.
