You can assemble it! Transform it! You can transform it! I made an interesting and cool "PLAMAX Ryuohmaru" that is good for assembling, transforming, and displaying! The weekend plastic model by voice actor Yasuyuki Tai! Vol.11]

When you are a working adult, you tend to have a lot of plastic models piled up in your busy life. ...... In this series, Yasuyuki Tai, a voice actor who loves robots and plastic models, takes on the challenge of building plastic models on your behalf!

The concept is "even busy working people can make it this far on their weekends off. There are only two rules: bare bones assembly and a production period of one to two days! If you read this series, you will surely find the plastic model you want to build.

So, "Weekend Plastic Model Making by Voice Actor Taiyuki! Let's start the 11th issue!

Vol. 11 PLAMAX Ryuohmaru

This time we will be looking at Max Factory's PLAMAX series "Ryuohmaru ".
Ryuohmaru is a robot that appears in the TV anime "Wataru: The Heroic Legend of Magus Wataru," and is a machine made by the fourth grade elementary school student Wataru SENBE, whose clay sculpture he made in school was possessed by the spirit of the Dragon God, and which became more powerful in the midpoint of the story. At the time of the anime airing, Takara (now Takara Tomy) also released a variable plastic kit as part of its Plastic Action Series. Once re-released by Bandai, it was reissued by Takara again, but after that, no more plastic kits, including new ones, were released for more than 10 years.

However, the plastic kits were finally released! The Bandai was finally re-released as a plastic kit, breaking the silence!

The package has an outstanding layout with a fresh illustration and the word "Ryuohmaru" clearly written on it. It seems to symbolize that it has gained wings to fly to the sky.

The side of the package introduces the features of the kit.

The contents are as you can see, colorful runners. Foil stickers and full-color assembly instructions are included.

Some parts are "under-gated" to make gate marks less noticeable, so be sure to look carefully at the instructions for the first item to assemble the head.

This is the forehead part. Clear parts with the same shape as the black parts are included. It is a selectable type. This part will be the highlight of your skill, especially if you are a painter.

Black and clear parts are also provided for the eyes. This is also a nice consideration for those who will use clear paint or electric decorations. This time, I decided to attach stickers to the black parts to make it easier to complete the model.

As shown in the photo above, after placing the sticker on the part, press down along the mold with a toothpick or the like to restore the three-dimensional effect. Be careful not to use too hard a toothpick or too much force, or you will tear the sticker.

The ducts on the cheeks are also reproduced with stickers.

The head is assembled. This color scheme will be reproduced without painting. The yellow parts are also thankfully not made of soft resin.

The stickers for the eyes of the phoenix form were applied before detaching it from the runner in order to secure the place to hold it.

Here are the parts assembled. As I watch it take shape little by little, I am reminded of the plasticions I have assembled in the past, and I feel that this kit is a tribute to plasticions.

Now then, let's shout.

Let 's shout , "Full power! Transformation! Ryuohmaru!

Oh ~~~~~~~!

What do you think? What do you think of this styling? It embodies the "fun and coolness" that is typical of a demi-god! It even has a transformation gimmick, but what a surprise! And don't forget that it is unpainted.

Rear view. The plate on the back is also reproduced in two colors, white and yellow. And it is not made of soft resin! If you are a deep fan, you may understand why we often insist on "soft resin".

In fact, in the plastic version, poly parts were used for moving parts and sharp parts, and it was impossible to reproduce the coloring as it was set in the original version. Since the poly parts could not be painted, boys and girls at the time had to use their imagination to compensate for the coloring. This time, however, the coloring has been reproduced not only by painting but also by color-coding the parts! Can you feel the excitement?

Upper body. The shape of each part is almost perfect. The shape of the antenna on the head and the parasol extending behind it are particularly important, and together with the sharp shape of the face, the best possible lines have been drawn. The round portion on the side of the chest, which is the firing port for the Hiryu-ken, is sealed. The gradient ball on the chest is a separate part.

From the back. The blue part of the head is also a separate part, not a painted part.

The pipe on the flank is also sculpted very well. The glimpse of the stored phoenix head is another feature of the three-dimensional Ryuohmaru! Personally, I'm not a fan of this being stored away securely!

The black areas on the knees, ankles and inside the ankles are sealed. The knee armor extends all the way up to the thighs! The knee armor is a nice touch.

The color scheme is perfectly reproduced by color-coding the parts, except for the dragon emblem on the shoulders, which is sticker-processed. We recommend using a toothpick to press down the stickers along the mold to give them a three-dimensional appearance.

The subtle curved surfaces of the second arm and forearm are also well reproduced. If these surfaces are too crisp, Ryuohmaru's gentleness and warmth will be lost, so this is a very important part of the figure.

On the back of the arms, there are parts in the shape of folded phoenix claws.

The design of the figure seems to be difficult to make movable, but it has been designed to the last possible limit for a plastic kit of this size.

First, the head. As you can see, the head is movable vertically.

In the horizontal direction, it can be moved as far as this area.

The shoulder armor can be lifted up as you can see.

So, if you raise the arms horizontally as they are, you can go as far as here.
Furthermore, .......

By rotating the shoulder joint of the arm 180°,

You can reproduce the state in which the arm is raised further upward.

Of course, the rotational movement by the movable axis is also perfect!

In addition, the base of the flying dragon fist is also movable in this kit, and can be bounced outward as shown here: .......

It can also rotate.

It can even swing forward. Although the design makes it difficult to make it movable, it has a very interesting movable arrangement.

The elbow joints only bend so far as they are.

but if you stretch the elbow joint a little bit, you can bend it

You can bend it about 90 degrees.

In fact, the elbow joint block is connected to each of the upper arm and forearm, so it can be turned independently.

So the elbow can be bent outward like this.

The wrists are ball-jointed, so you can add some nuance to them.

The base of the legs can be raised up to 90 degrees horizontally, as it is also movable for deformation.

The base of the legs can also be rotated slightly, but since there is an axis of rotation at the knees, the figure can be made to stand in a large "C" position as shown here. The knee joints are not bent, but this does not interfere with the style of the figure.

The front and rear movement is like this. There are no obstacles around the waist area, so the figure can be moved widely.

The ankles are deformed and movable with only a few parts. The structure of the ankle can be seen from the back.

Thanks to this structure, the mobility of the ankles is quite excellent. The roll is of course ......

The position of the ankle is also adjustable.

The toes and heels can also be raised slightly, but not too much. It looks like this will allow you to have her take poses with a good step.

Wataru: "Here I go! Ryuohmaru!"

Ryuohmaru "Oh!
