Planetarian: The Snow Sphere" OVA Crowdfunding Project Achieves 260% of Goal with Approx. 77.98 Million Yen in Support! OVA is scheduled to be completed in September 2020.

A crowdfunding campaign to produce a film adaptation of "Snow Globe," a novel outside of the kinetic novel "planetarian" produced by Key/Visual Arts, has been launched.

Planetarian" is a kinetic novel released in 2004 by Key/Visual Arts, known for "Kanon," "AIR," and "CLANNAD. Set in a near-future city devastated by a world war, it is a science fiction action story about the interaction between a man who wanders into a planetarium and a girl-like robot named Yumemi Hoshino who has been waiting for customers there for 30 years. The anime version of this work, "planetarian: Chiisana hoshi no yumemi," was distributed as a web anime in 2016, and was also released as the film version anime "planetarian the movie: Hoshi no hito.

On November 29, 2019, the 15th anniversary of the birth of this work, a crowdfunding project was launched on "CAMPFIRE" to make a film version of "Snow Globe," a novel outside of "planetarian," and the goal of 30 million yen was reached in just two days. The project reached its goal of 30 million yen in just two days. Two days before the end of the project, 60 million yen, or 200% of the goal, was reached. In addition, a new stretch goal of 75 million yen was announced, which was reached on January 24, 2020, the project's closing date. The total amount of final support reached approximately 77.98 million yen, which is approximately 260% of the goal.

The "Planetarian: Snow Globe" OVA will be produced with the goal of completion in September 2020.

＜Story＞
A prequel to the main story. It is set in a time when the space exploration, which was the passion of human beings all over the world, is coming to an end. Yumemi Hoshino, a companion robot at the planetarium pavilion of the Hanabishi Department Store, repeatedly ignores her work orders and abandons her workplace. This is because of a "promise" Yumemi made 10 years ago. ...... A heartwarming story of a time when the world was still at peace.
