A live-action Hollywood drama of "ONE PIECE" will be distributed exclusively on Netflix! Eiichiro Oda: "Preparations are slowly and steadily underway behind the scenes.

The popular manga "ONE PIECE," whose live-action adaptation was already announced in 2017, will be distributed as the Netflix original series "ONE PIECE," it was officially announced on January 30, 2020.

ONE PIECE" is a popular comic series serialized by Eiichiro Oda in "Weekly Shonen Jump" since 1997. It has sold more than 460 million copies worldwide and has been loved for many years.

In the past, there have been many offers to make a live-action film version of this work. Mr. Oda and the Weekly Shonen Jump editorial department were convinced that they could overcome the various hurdles, and this live-action adaptation was realized.

The Netflix original series "ONE PIECE" will be distributed as a 10-episode drama series.

For the live-action adaptation, Netflix has partnered with Tomorrow Studios, one of Hollywood's leading studios, which also produced the live-action Hollywood adaptation of the popular anime "Cowboy Bebop," as well as with Shueisha.

The script was written by Matt Owens, who has worked on Netflix's Marvel drama series. The executive producers will be Steve Maeda, Marty Adelstein, Becky Clements, and Matt Owens, who worked on the American TV drama "Lost," as well as the Hollywood production team, including Eiichiro Oda, the original author.
