The project, "Evangelion Chukyo Area Project: From Nagoya and Sasashima Live to the World," is a collaboration between the popular anime "Evangelion," which is gaining momentum with the release of its latest theatrical version in 2020, and the Chukyo area centered on Nagoya City in Aichi Prefecture. This time, the third project of "Evangelion Chukyo Area Project - From Nagoya and Sasashima Live to the World" has been announced.

The special exhibition of the <golden> Evangelion first plane at Centrair, Central Japan International Airport, which was unveiled at the end of last year, has been very popular on SNS, with comments such as, "It looks great on Instagram" and "It's the start of the New Year, so happy! At the ceremony held on January 10, 2020, the 6-meter Evangelion statue towering over the Global Gate and a wrapping bus that allows visitors to enjoy the world of Evangelion inside and outside the bus were unveiled and are being spread daily by many people who see them. In addition, from January 14, Nagoya Railroad's Mu Sky became the talk of the town with its Evangelion-specification.

In the third part of this project, a giant mannequin doll "Nana-chan" in front of the Meitetsu Department Store Men's Building, which is also a symbol of Nagoya, will newly appear dressed as Ayanami Rei. Special exhibition of the 6-meter Evangelion "Hatsugen" (the first plane)

A 6-meter statue of Evangelion appears in the center of Global Gate, a commercial complex that is a landmark of Sashima Live. Next to the statue, a healing photo spot space created by "garage NERV" will appear. Under the theme of "Rebirth from Collapse," from next February 10, the statue will be transformed into a lively green decoration that evokes the feeling of early spring. Please enjoy the changing scenery together with the standing statue of the first plane.

Garage NERV Concept

In January 2020, the "Evangelion Chukyo Region Project" was launched. The "garage NERV" located in the NERV underground geofront was created as a place of relaxation for tired pilots and NERV staff, with trees and greenery that change with the seasons. The project will remain in this world until the end of March 2020. Please fully enjoy this space that can only be seen now.

The "Evangelion" anime series was first broadcast on TV in 1995 and became a social phenomenon among young people through movies, manga, character goods, pachinko, cosplay, etc. In 2007, the series was reborn as a new four-part movie "Evangelion: Introduction, Breakthrough, Q, and Shin" and expanded to a new group of fans. 2012 The third part, "Q," which was released in November 2012, welcomed a new storyline and became a blockbuster hit, drawing more than 2.8 million viewers. This exhibition is reconstructed with approximately 200 production materials carefully selected from the "Evangelion Exhibition," which has been touring throughout Japan since 2013. The exhibition includes art backgrounds, mechanics, and other valuable settings, as well as original drawings of famous scenes, which will allow visitors to appreciate the appeal of the new theatrical versions of ":O:", ":B:", and ":Q" once again. In addition, reproductions of original drawings and setting materials of "Shin Evangelion the Movie," which will be released in June 2020, will also be exhibited.

<Golden> Evangelion: Special Exhibition of the Standing Sculpture of the First Evangelion

A 3-meter-tall gold Evangelion aircraft welcomes arriving passengers at Centrair, which handles approximately 3.1 million airline passengers (January to March, 2018). It is a symbolic monument befitting the gateway to this project, which also aims to promote inbound and outbound tourism and cultural exchange.

The welcome station name signboard near the ticket gate of Sasashima Live Station will be decorated with the design of "Ayanami Rei" and "Ayanami Line". A sub-station name of Sasashima Live Station will be "In front of NERV Evangelion Chukyo Area Project Headquarters" and a photo spot of "Ayanami Rei" will be set up in the station premises.

Installation of a standing statue of the first plane at Kinjofuto Station
Period: On display - March 31 (Tue.) (scheduled)
A 2-meter statue of the first plane will be installed from the platform of Kinjofuto Station toward Sasashima Live, gazing out from Kinjofuto toward the Sasashima Live area, the home of the project.
