Razer launches the world's first laptop with optical keyswitches on February 4. Priced at 315,800 yen (excluding tax)

Razer, a well-known brand of gaming devices, will release a new 15-inch Razer Blade 15 laptop with the world's first optical switch keyboard on February 4, 2020. It will be priced at 315,800 yen (excluding tax).

The Razer Blade 15 is a 15-inch notebook designed for users who require more accurate and quick input for game play and text input.

The optical switch keyboard provides instant sensor activation and tactile feedback. An infrared beam is positioned under every key to detect key press motion (actuation), enabling more accurate and faster input than conventional laptop keyboards. It has an actuation point of only 1mm, an actuation force of 55g, and a key travel of 1.7mm (the maximum amount of travel when a key is pressed). The Razer Chroma RGB function allows the backlight of each individual key to be changed to 16.8 million colors.

The basic specs include an Intel Core i7-9750H processor CPU. The memory is 16GB (8GB x 2), and the GPU is the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070. The display is a 15.6" full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels, non-glare), 512GB SSD for storage, and supports IEEE802.11a/b/g/n/ac compliant wireless LAN and Bluetooth 5 for wireless communication.

Interfaces include one Thunderbolt 3 (USB Type-C), two USB Type-C (3.2), one USB Type-C (3.2), one HDMI 2.0B, one Mini DisplayPort 1.4, and microphone/headphones.

The main unit measures 355 (W) x 19.9 (H) x 235 (D) mm and weighs approximately 2.30 kg.
