The first voting project to determine the most beloved Pokémon! Pokémon of the Year" project to commemorate "Pokémon Day" starts!
The first "Pokémon of the Year" voting project was held to commemorate the release of the Game Boy title "Pokémon Red and Green" in 1996, and February 27 was recognized as "Pokémon Day". Voting is open until Friday, February 14.
As previously reported, Pokémon Inc. announced on January 31 that February 27 was designated as "Pokémon Day" and recognized by the Japan Anniversary Association.
The first "Pokémon of the Year" voting project to be held to commemorate the event will use the Google Search voting function to accept votes simultaneously in eight languages (Japanese, English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Korean, and Traditional Chinese). Log in to your Google account and do a Google search for "Pokémon voting. On the voting screen that appears in the search results, select the category for which you want to vote. Next, select one of the Pokémon listed in order of their National Book Number, and click the "Vote" button to complete your vote.
Pokémon trainers from around the world will vote for their favorite Pokémon to determine the most beloved Pokémon of the past year.
Pokémon that have appeared up until the latest Switch title, "Pokémon Sword Shield," are eligible to vote.
Pokémon eligible for voting are divided into eight categories by region, and one Pokémon per category can be selected for voting. Voting is limited to once per day.
The results will be announced on the official Pokémon YouTube channel (premier release) at around 23:00 Japan time on February 27, 2020 (Thursday).

Voting period: Friday, February 14, 2020, until 10:59 p.m.
How to participate:
(1) After logging in to your Google account, search for "Pokémon Vote" in Google search:
(2) On the voting screen that appears in the search results, select the category in which you want to vote:
(3) Select one of the Pokémon listed by National Book Number (3) Select one of the Pokémon listed by National Book Number and click the "Vote" button.
You must have a Google account to vote.
You can vote for up to 8 Pokémon at a time, one in each of the 8 categories.
*Voting is limited to once a day, and you can vote every day during the voting period.
Reset will be made at midnight every day.
The Pokémon that are eligible for voting are all 890 species with National Book Number No. 1 to No. 890.
Please note that the voting will be conducted according to the National Book Number, including those with different appearances such as Region Forms.
Please note that voting from an account that violates Google's Terms of Service may result in the invalidation of the vote.
