Spring anime "Takuboku Tori Tantei Place" broadcast start date set for 4/13! Additional cast includes Kenjiro Tsuda, Kensho Ono, Soma Saito, Yuichiro Umehara, and more!

The broadcast start date for the TV anime adaptation of "Takkutsu Tanteitokoro (啄木鳥探偵處)" has been set for April 13, 2020 (Monday). Additional cast and character information was also announced.

The original work is based on the full-scale mystery novel "Takuboku Tori Tantei Location" (written by Kei Ii, Sogen Sushuri Bunko), which won the 3rd Sogen Sushuri Short Story Award. For the anime adaptation, Shinpei Ezaki, who directed "Monster Strike The Movie: To the Place of Beginning," is the general director, and Taku Kishimoto, who worked on the series composition for "Hi-Q! and Taku Kishimoto, who worked on the series composition of "HIQUE! In addition, popular illustrator Iku Saki was chosen to draft the characters. The animation production will be handled by Raiden Film, which has worked on "Terraformers" and other works.

Additional Cast and Character Information

The additional cast members have also been announced. Kenjiro Tsuda will be playing the role of "Nomura Kodo," a big brother with a strong sense of humanity; Kensho Ono will be playing the role of "Hirai Taro," a literary boy who aspires to become a novelist; Souma Saito will be playing the role of "Isamu Yoshii," a poet and count in love; Yuichiro Umehara will play the role of "Sakutaro Hagiwara," a shy and soft-spoken pure poet; and Makisui Wakayama, a fast-paced poet who loves traveling and drinking. Shin Furukawa will play the role of "Makisui Wakayama," a slow-paced poet who loves to travel and drink, and Koya Hayashi will play the role of "Ryunosuke Akutagawa," a solitary high school genius.

Takuboku Ishikawa (CV. Shintaro Asanuma)
A genius poet. He was Kyosuke Kindaichi's senior in junior high school. He is a charming man who is sloppy with money and women, but is somehow lovable.

The opportunity to play a great man from my hometown is not something you get very often, even if you have been an actor for a long time. Kyosuke Kindaichi (CV: Takahiro Sakurai)
Part-time lecturer at Kokugakuin University. He is a mild-mannered person who loves Takuboku's talent. He is susceptible to Takuboku's pushiness.

Nomura Kodo (CV. Kenjiro Tsuda)
A student at Tokyo Imperial University. He is Kyosuke's classmate from junior high school and Takuboku's senior. He is a caring and compassionate person. He is a big brother to the literati. He later wrote "Zenigata Heiji: The Catch-22".

Taro Hirai (CV: Kensho Ono)
A literary boy with a curious mind. He is very interested in the cases Takuboku deals with. He has a keen eye for observation and can make deductions that rival those of adults. He is the future Edogawa Rampo.

Isamu Yoshii is a well-bred man with a racy temperament. He sees Ishikawa Takuboku as his rival. He later became famous for writing the lyrics to the popular song "Gondola no uta" (Song of the Gondola).

<STORY>
Time: The The end of Meiji era--
Takuboku Ishikawa, a genius poet suffering from lack of money, decides to start a detective business at a boarding house after a murder case. He started his own detective agency, "Takuboku Toboku Tantei Sho". Takuboku's assistants are his fellow countrymen, Kyosuke Kindaichi, a fellow student of Takuboku's. They help Takuboku with a series of bizarre cases. Involving his fellow writers, Nomura Kodo, Yoshii Isamu, Hagiwara Sakutaro, and Wakayama Makisui, the genius poet Ishikawa Takuboku travels through the civilized Tokyo!
