The first free major update for Steam's Monster Hunter World: Iceborn is now available!　It is full of content, including the additional monster Rajan!

The first major update was released today, Thursday, February 6, 2020, for the Steam version of " Monster Hunter World: Iceborn " (Capcom).

The "Monster Hunter" series is a hunting action game in which players face off against giant monsters in a magnificent natural setting. In "Monster Hunter: World" (hereafter, MHW), the latest in the series, players become hunters who set foot on a "new continent" as part of a survey team and explore an unknown continent.

Monster Hunter World: Iceborn" (hereafter referred to as "MHW: IB") is a very large additional content for "MHW. In addition to depicting the world after the ending of the main story, the stage has been moved to the extremely cold "Frozen Land of Watari," where a variety of areas and monsters will appear. In addition, new actions will be added to the currently implemented weapons, and the volume of the game is packed with new features.

This update adds the monster Rajan, known as the "Golden Lion," and the "Lava Zone" as a new area in the Land of Guidance. The My House feature has also been expanded. Golden Lion "Rajan


The newly discovered monster "Rajan" will be revealed by completing the special missions added in the update!　Also, new weapons and armor can be produced and strengthened with materials obtained from Rajan. Otomo equipment can also be produced. Also, if you complete all the quests requested by the Grand Commander, you can obtain a new weapon charm, "Claw Ornament of the Strong [Golden Lion]".


*The special mission can be ordered by talking to the Grand Commander at the frontline base Seriena after the ending of "Monster Hunter World: Iceborn," while you have been to the "Land of Guidance.


Addition of "Lava Zone" to the Land of Guidance


A place where monsters that do not appear in other areas appear. You can obtain materials necessary for strengthening weapons and armor.

My House related updates


Public settings of My House can now be changed from the Room Service or Start menu.When set to public (the default setting is public), friends in the same meeting area will be able to enter Seriena's MyHouse. Public settings with passwords are also available.

Raccoon City Collaboration


The event quest "RE: The Returning Biological Disaster," in which players must use the special "zombie state" to clear the quest, will be held from 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 6 to 8:59 a.m. on Friday, March 13 (Japan Standard Time).By collecting "S.T.A.R.S. badges" obtained by clearing the quest, players can produce special one-set armor "EX Leon α" and "EX Claire α," which allow them to become Leon and Claire.In addition, the "Nari-Kiri Tyrant" dress-up costume for receptionists is also available as downloadable content (for a fee).

Quests related to the Armor Design Contest


Event quests "Hunters' Eternal Dream II" and "Hunters' Eternal Dream III" will be held from February 6 (Thu.) 9:00 to March 13 (Fri.) 8:59 (Japan time). The "EX Yurayura Neko Alpha" series, the otomo armor that won the Grand Prize in the Armor Design Contest, and the materials needed to produce the "Dark Eagle" charge axe can be obtained.

Astera Festival [Shimmering Banquet] and Celiena Festival [Banquet of All Blessings] will be held from February 28 (Fri.) 9:00 to March 13 (Fri.) 8:59 (Japan time). Manpuku Ticket SP" can be obtained from lower level hunter help rewards or special rewards generated from master rank quests and exploration, and can be exchanged for special layered equipment and charms.

In addition,the appearance of the "snowman," an item that can be placed in the field during the period, will change! When you examine this "snowman", you can obtain "snowballs", which can be thrown at other players.
