A tale of witches and love revived. FINAL FANTASY VIII Remastered" release date set & pre-order start!

Square Enix has announced the release date for FINAL FANTASY VIII Remastered for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Steam: September 3, 2019 for PS4, XB1, and Switch; and September September 4, 2019. At the same time, pre-orders began today (for the Steam version, starting August 21; the Switch version will be available for pre-download at a later date).

FINAL FANTASY VIII" is the eighth title in the "Final Fantasy" series. Squall, a member of the SeeD, a special forces unit of the mercenary training school Balamb Garden, meets students from the school and members of the Resistance, and eventually becomes involved in an epic battle against witches. The "Junction System," in which players stock up on magic instead of the standard "MP" concept of the series, as well as "Special Moves," which can only be activated under limited conditions, have been eliminated. Released on the PlayStation in 1998, this title has sold approximately 3.7 million copies, making it the second best-selling PlayStation title of all time.


FINAL FANTASY VIII Remastered" is a remastered version of "FINAL FANTASY VIII" with various improvements for current consoles. In addition to completely redesigned character CG, the game speed has been tripled, and the character HP and "ATB" (Active Time Battle, or "ATB") gauges are now more accurate during battles. The game also includes various features not found in the original, such as tripling the game speed, maximizing the HP and "ATB" (Active Time Battle, a system in which each character has a gauge that allows the target to take action when it is full) at all times, and allowing the use of special moves as much as the player wants.


If you download the game from the PlayStation Store, you will receive a PS4 theme for Squall and Rinoa, and if you pre-order the Steam version, you will receive the original "SLEEPING LIONHEART" and "DESTINY" wallpapers. DESTINY" will be included as a bonus. Both can be downloaded after the release of the game. The pre-order period for the Steam version is from August 21, 1:00 to September 4, 0:59.
