Interview] Halca has a cute singing voice, and her memorable first album "Assortrip" is like an assortment of sweets!

Halca debuted in May 2018 with "Kimi no Tonari", the ending theme song for the TV anime "Otaku ni Koi wa Difficult", and has released four singles to date, all of which have been anime tie-in songs. halca's cute vocals and light, cheerful tunes have won the hearts of many fans.
Her first album is now available. It is titled "Assortrip" and contains 13 songs. It contains ballads, disco numbers, and authentic pop songs, making it a very listenable album.

I wanted to put the word "Assort" in the album title.

─ ─ So, the album is finally here. How do you feel now that it is completed?

halca Ever since I wanted to be a singer, I have wanted to make my own album someday, so I am very happy that it has come true.

I am very happy that it has come to fruition.

halca It is a coined word combining "Assort" and "Trip. I like to eat sweets, so I often see the word "assort" (assortment). I chose this word because I wanted my songs, which I have tried to create a different tune for each single, to be stored like an assortment of sweets, and I wanted people to be excited to listen to them. At first, I thought of simply using "Assort," but it was pointed out to me that it was too stylish and that I should try adding a bit more pop, so I decided to combine it with another word, so I decided to combine it with "Trip.

─ ─ This album is an assortment and a journey.

halca I thought that the way the view of the world changes with each song is like taking a trip. I thought it could be combined with the word "trip," like going to another dimension, and since it starts with the letter "T," I thought it could be combined with "Assort. I decided on "Assortrip" because it has a nice sound when you say it out loud.

I think you took jacket photos and artist photos to go with the title. The jacket for the limited first edition A features the Eiffel Tower, and the artist photo is of Big Ben, giving it a travel feel.

halca That's right. And the regular edition has a photo of me sitting on both photos, using them as a mat. The liner notes also use plenty of photos, so I hope you enjoy them.

─ ─ I also like the artist logo, which looks like a sticker to put on a suitcase.

halca Yes, it was newly designed. It's very cute and has the feel of an entry stamp on a passport.

halca The other two photos were close-ups, so I decided to go all out and make a close-up of her. It was a little embarrassing, but the makeup artist and photographer did a great job.
