The anime is based on Fuse's popular novel "Tensei Takera Slyme Datta Koto", which has recorded a total of 400 million PV on the novel submission site "Shosetsu-ka Narou". The anime version is based on the comic book version of the novel (manga by Yasuki Kawakami, serialized in Kodansha's "Monthly Shonen Sirius"). Satoru Mikami, an office worker, finds himself reincarnated in another world. However, his appearance is that of a slime.
