■ Synopsis
In a world where life flourishes through reincarnation.
People celebrate the life they have been given and pray for the next life.
Grief for death binds the living and makes the dead hesitate.
In other words, grieving over death is a taboo against reincarnation.
Therefore, people send the dead off by turning their sadness into smiles.
But even the hearts of those who tried to forget their tears needed salvation.
And so one role was born--
People called them ikutomori (ikutomori), the guardians of the departed.
They were to save the souls of the dead, the "mayoito," who wandered about,
In other words, they are the mediators between the living and the dead, between this world and the next.
The "Mayoito Mamoru" is the one who cuts off the unforgettable memories of the lost and sends them to the next world.
He or she is the one who touches the feelings of the living and the dead and respects their lives.
This is the story of one departed guardian and his life.
