Then, summer is not over yet! Here are some hot ...... no, hot items!

Hankotsu Salon 2: Tamamono Dobutsu: Turin International (Sukiyorabo), 5 kinds, 400 yen

This is the first appearance of Sukiyorabo in this column! I have been checking out Sukiyorabo for a while, though! I thought it was a very nice thing to make. I mean this as a compliment. You have a very solid worldview.

A doctor was working day and night on giving skeletons to all kinds of things and bringing them to life. The half bare bones of the objects that escape from this research are enjoying the freedom they have gained.

The first product is a series of "Japanese folk crafts" including "Dharma dolls," "beckoning cats," "kokeshi dolls," "komainu (guardian dogs)," and "sarubobo (baby dolls). Of course, all of them have only half of their bones exposed. For the second volume, we are thrilled with the crazy idea of ......, where folk crafts turn stuck foods into hankies and take them out for a picnic! Let's check out the lineup for the second installment!

Hankotsu Banana

The peeled skin looks like an arm. It looks like a sea lion! It is so elaborate that it gives the illusion that there might be at least one in this world! It is so elaborately made that you may think, "Maybe there is one in this world?

Hankotsu cucumber

Many of you may have memories of making these cucumbers during the Obon season. Ancestors come from the other world to ride on them, spirit horse style. It even has proper toothpick legs. Under the summer sun, the beaming and curving cucumbers are dynamic in their own right, and if you only look at the skeleton, it is truly a horse. The chorus song "Wild Horses" seems to be flowing in my head.

Hankotsu apple

A rabbit-shaped apple in the corner of the lunch box. The legs of the skeletal part can be moved a little. Is it really a rabbit? The quality is so good that it makes you wonder if it really is a rabbit. It's so weird.

Hankotsu eggplant

This is also a spirit cow that appears during the Bon Festival. The back view of the deliciously plump fruit is just like a cow itself. The toothpick extending from the bone is a mismatch. It makes you laugh.

Hankotsu wiener

This is the creepiest ....... It is an octopus wiener for lunch, but it is strangely realistic that it has been heated and soaked in the cooking process. Moreover, it has eight legs and half a bone. It makes me say "awesome," including the attention to detail you can see when you look up from below. Be warned.

I can imagine a picture of folk crafts and food animals that have been given life, having a picnic together. It would take a lot of courage to join them. ......, but anyway, I am sure this series will continue in the future! Please throw a stone at the capsule toy industry with your very rebellious spirit. We are looking forward to it.

Miniature Japanese Garden Mascot - 5 kinds in total - J. Dream - 200 yen

Perhaps in preparation for the Tokyo Olympics to be held next year, miniature capsule toys of Japanese culture seem to be appearing more than ever before since the start of the 2021 Olympics, with "foreigners" in mind.

The "Miniature Japanese Garden Mascot" introduced here is not just a diorama, but an ambitious work that allows you to experience the gimmick of the Shishiodoshi, which actually makes a "kakon" sound. The size is just right to fit in a capsule. The size is just right to fit in a capsule, and the relatively inexpensive price tag of 200 yen is a real bonus. Now, let's create your own original garden, while being excited by the size of the palm of your hand.

Green and yellow shishio-doshi

There are two types of Shishio-doshi: one is green with the aroma of green bamboo, and the other is yellowish in color, which can be found in any garden. Now, let's try actually pouring water. A little technique is required for the pouring method and the amount of water, but at first glance, it is easy to pour.

When the plastic bamboo bounces back, it makes a "konk" sound! It is made of plastic, so if you expect a realistic sound, it is not so easy, but it is a good thing because you can experience something like that. It is recommended for visitors from overseas to buy as a souvenir!

Stone lanterns (green) and (ash)

Use the hollows of these stone lanterns as receptacles for water flowing from the Shishio-doshi. However, since it is originally the size of a gacha, it cannot hold much water. It will soon overflow, so be careful.

The stone-like texture is very nice. The detailed modeling of the ladle and moss is also quite good.

Well

You can spin the rope at the top of the well to see the different sizes of stones piled up one by one, the dirtiness of the stones, and the vegetation growing on the sides of the well. The stacked stones of different sizes, the dirtiness of the stones, and the grass growing on the sides of the wells are also expressed. I was impressed by the fine craftsmanship.

I would like to connect many Shishiodoshi horizontally and play with them by pouring water all at once. I'm sure there are other fun ways to play with them. I see great potential in this series. In my head, I can hear "Kakkon! Kakkon! I can almost hear it fluttering in my head.
