DAY 1 of "Animelo Summer Live 2019 -Story-," one of the world's largest anime song festivals, was held at Saitama Super Arena on August 30, 2019.

On the first day of the 3-day event, which was held on a slightly irregular schedule in September, i☆Ris, Natsuori Ishihara, Sayoshi Oishi, Konomi Suzuki, Sphere, fhana, Suzuko Mimori, ReoNa, Roselia, Miki Ito, Saka Sasaki, Mai Fuchigami, Rikako Aida, Ai Nakajima Ai Nakajima, Anime Rosamer Princess from "Princess Connect! Re:Dive," Masayuki Suzuki, Kemono Friends, Kiyoji Hikawa, and a surprise guest, 765 Pro idol Chihaya Kisaragi (and Asami Imai) from "THE iDOLM@STER.

Kemono Friends x iRiSphere

The live opened with "Welcome to Japari Park" by Kemono Friends and Friends of i☆RiSphere (i☆Ris & Sphere) together. The audience cheered loudly when the screen showed a big picture of the brother, Oishi Masayoshi, amidst the excitement of the various combinations of performers on stage. The audience also cheered when they saw a big picture of his brother, Oishi Masayoshi, on the screen! Japari Beat," Tomoko Kaneda burst in as Toki's friend, dressed as a friend. The audience went wild as Ms. Kaneda screamed in excitement, and Mr. Oishi took her away.

The main attraction of the first day was the participation of Kiyoji Hikawa and Masayuki Suzuki, two big names in the spotlight, at Anisama. Hikawa, who has a strong image as an enka (traditional Japanese ballad) singer, stunned the audience this year in a sexy, see-through, lamé costume and sang "Limit Break X Survivor". She sang "Limit Break x Survivor" and thanked the Anisama fans for their warmth, saying, "You're so kind, I love you all. She also challenged the audience to cover "TOUGH BOY," the opening theme song of the TV anime "Hokuto no Ken 2. Sometimes bewitching, sometimes refreshing, Kiyoshi sublimated the song into his original expression.

Masayuki Suzuki feat Sphere

This year marks the 39th anniversary of Masayuki Suzuki's debut! He is a big name with a long history as a singer, but this is the first time he has sung a theme song for a TV anime, "Love Dramatic feat. Rokka Ihara," the opening theme song for "Kaguya-sama ga Kesshirasai ~Tensai-tachi no Koen-i Toushi Tachi no Arufu Senkou Senka~. In other words, he is a major newcomer in the anime song world who has passed the 60th birthday mark. Mr. Suzuki appeared on stage with the voice actress unit Sphere like a chorus singers and performed "Love Dramatic" with the four of them. He then sang "No, it's not like that" under his solo name as the king of love songs, Masayuki Suzuki, and "Megumi no Hito," a representative song from his days as a member of Razz & Star.

Another impressive collaboration was the "Bandolier! Another impressive collaboration was "This game" by Konomi Suzuki and Roselia, a girl band from the "Bandolier! Roselia had just recently performed the largest outdoor live concert in the band's history, and the cover song they had finished performing for this summer was "This game" by Ms. Suzuki. The intro solo played by Kabaon Shizaki in the smoke heightened the anticipation of the audience, and then the original artist, Konomi Suzuki, appeared on stage. The twin vocals of Ms. Suzuki and Ms. Aina Aiba echoed the audience. The band unit, in which the voice actors themselves perform, honed their skills on cover songs, and the sight of them standing side by side with the original artists and performing together was an enjoyable experience unique to the festival.

The opposite pattern was fhāna's "Kimi wa kitaeru bashojo" ("You're home"). This song was composed by fhāna's Junichi Sato for Gothic x Luck, a unit created from "Kemono Friends 2. It must have been a great experience for them to sing with Towana on the big stage of Anisama.

Other female artists lined up for the first day of 2019. Natsuori Ishihara, who participated in Anisama for the first time as a solo artist after various unit activities; Ai Nakajima, who celebrated 10 years since her debut under her own name; and Saka Sasaki, who returned to the Anisama stage for the first time in 8 years and declared that she would bring back as many fans as possible to the "Galpan" swamp, one of her origins. Sasaki Saka, who returned to the Anisama stage for the first time in 10 years, declared that she would bring back as many fans as possible to the "Galpan" swamp, one of her origins, while Mai Fuchigami (......), a voice actress with her roots in the same work, rushed to her side.

The key players in this lineup were Suzuko Mimori, who performed the first half of the show, and Sphere, who performed the last half of the show as a whole. Including her unit activities, this was Mimori's 10th consecutive Anisama performance, and her 10th in a row. Mimori collaborated with artists such as Oishi Masayoshi, Natsuori Ishihara, Yu Serizawa and Yuka Otsubo, and Mai Fuchigami to perform songs from her career. The intensity of the entertainment, involving artists of various colors in his world, and ending with his solo "I want to see you...! I miss you! Mimori's presence and stability were unique to her.

Sphere also celebrated its 10th anniversary this year. They showed their versatility by opening the show with "Kemono Friends," dancing and chorusing with Masayuki Suzuki on stage, and closing the finale as a super voice-over unit. During the MC, Sphere reported on their 10th anniversary and that Mr. Takagaki had gotten married. While their performance was a showcase of the latest achievements of the current Sphere, the screen showed footage of Sphere's previous Anisama performances, and the background music during the stage change included the melody of their debut song, giving the audience a sense of their "story". The setlist was filled with a story, and the flow of the setlist was filled with stories.

It was a dense first day of Anisama, where the setlist told a story.

The surprise one-song-only performance by Chihaya Kisaragi of 765 Production will be described in detail in another section.

KISARAGI Chihaya's "Story

This year's surprise guest for Anisama Day 1 was idol Chihaya Kisaragi (played by Asami Imai, of course) and the Duke of Pianetto. Chihaya Kisaragi is an idol from the "THE iDOLM@STER" series, and is a stoic girl who loves to sing. The first special song is "Aoi Tori (Blue Bird)," which can be said to be one half of the essential piece that makes up her. A girl who is not a talkative person, she puts her singing and her longing for you on her voice. I want to sing. I want to deliver it. A song of lamentation that expresses all that "KISARAGI Chihaya" is as an artist.

The official release of "Aoi Tori" dates back to 2005. The AC version of "THE iDOLM@STER" (commonly known as "AKEMAS") was an arcade game released by Namco (now Namco Bandai Entertainment) in 2005. The idea for the game was conceived even earlier, when Morning Musume Girls (Morning Musume) was in its heyday. (Morning Musume。) in its heyday was the inspiration for the game.

Players produce idols in a game center and compete in real-time (!!!) auditions against producers in game centers all over Japan. Players compete in real-time (!!!) against producers in game centers across Japan in auditions. The data of the idols they have produced is recorded on rewritable cards, and the main screen shows live performances of idols produced by players from all over the country. If you skip producing (or not), your idol will send a text message to your cell phone, summoning you to the game center. It sounds horrifyingly advanced when put into words, but it is surprisingly unbeknownst to those of us living in the middle of the times.

Today, the "iM@S" music world has been proliferated and subdivided with the release of numerous titles, but back in 2005, when the girls were born, it was a bit simpler. Producers received nine (or ten) idols belonging to "765 Productions" and songs that could be counted on two hands. The composers, all professionals in the field of game sound, created a series of strange and addictive songs while trying to figure out what an idol song was all about. These original songs include "Agent Yoru Oukoku," which would later shine a new light on iM@S from the world of the video site Nico Nico Douga, and the timeless anthem "THE IDOLM@STER. Many of the early "THE IDOLM@STER" songs are somewhat strange and very charming.

One of the most unique songs from the first period was "Aoi Tori," a slow and magnificent ballad attributed to "KISARAGI Chihaya. The song was composed by the young Gou Shiina. Is it possible to have a grand ballad in an idol game? There is even a more relaxed "9:02pm". Can the new voice actors sing this song, which requires a great deal of vocal ability? I wonder if idol game songs are recorded in such a gorgeous way with so many live instruments. The lyrics were written by Yuriko Mori. I wondered if idol games would use a legendary lyricist who had written lyrics for legendary idols such as Akina Nakamori. No one knew, and no one stopped them.

It was this freedom that expanded the musical possibilities of "THE iDOLM@STER" and created the individuality of "KISARAGI Chihaya. This is a story in the history that existed even before Anisama was born.

That is why her journey to the stage of Anisama was a difficult challenge. The audience at Anisama is warm. They may be the warmest in the world. However, the fact that "KISARAGI Chihaya" would be on stage on the first day was a surprise that had not been publicly announced in advance. Above all, it was the oldest song in the 14-year history of iM@S. The audience was sure to be impressed by the fact that they had heard of her. There must have been many audience members who had never heard of her or "Aoi Tori" before. I wondered how her voice would sound to young anime song fans who do not share the "story" she has accumulated. Will "KISARAGI Chihaya" reside there?

A piano melody was played. Personally, I think "Aoi Tori" has some traps that make it unsuitable for live performances, especially at festivals. One of them is the BPM trap. When listening to the original "Aoi Tori" from the arcade version of "THE iDOLM@STER" for the first time, many people may think the tempo is too fast. In fact, it is a bit fast. Although we can only imagine it now, I think the tempo is not unrelated to the work of taking a grand ballad with a long intro and a limited length and putting it into a "game size. The image of "KISARAGI Chihaya" in 2019, which has been created through many works and stages, should make most people imagine her singing a little slower.

And the amount of information she is able to express in her songs now is different from back then, when all she had to do was to rush to her songs. Therefore, I think that live performance was an absolute requirement. A live performance that goes beyond mere tempo adjustment and accompanies the singer's expression is a brilliant prescription that can only be prepared in the mature and mellow world of ani-song in 2019. Duke Pianito posted a video on Nico Nico Douga of a solo piano performance of "Aoi Tori" with great skill, which has received one million hits. He is a perfect partner for this big stage.

Chihaya KISARAGI feat. Duke Pianito

Chihaya Kisaragi, ...... or "Chihaya Kisaragi" by Asami Imai, appeared on stage. The blue light that lit up the venue spread like ripples, quickly turning the space itself azure. It is not only the performers who are being tested. The huge creature known as Anisama, which has accumulated respect for artists, was also being tested to see how it would face the history of sincere expression of its feelings.

What was going through her mind as she gazed out over the blue sea to the left and right in time with the slow melody? The stage was filled with white smoke, creating a fantastic space like a sea of clouds. The venue was faintly tense, and the diva's voice echoed through the pleasantly tense atmosphere. As the second full-size version of the song, "M@STER VERSION," was performed, the screen showed a scene from the TV anime "THE iDOLM@STER" in which the songstress was spending time with her friends and trusted friends from 765 Pro.

Perhaps it was symbolic of a change in the lonely diva's emotional state. Even the audience's psyllium movements quieted down as she sang, having learned to walk with her friends. After a moment of comfortable silence, the sound continued into the beautiful and passionate cadenza played by the Duke. When the sound of the faint breath she inhaled sharply with determination as she began to sing the last part of the song filled the arena with anticipation and silence, I was convinced that her wholehearted expression had indeed reached the place called Anisama and the hearts of the audience.

After she finished singing, the diva bowed her head deeply, truly deeply.

It must have lasted less than 10 minutes, a long and short time.

In the mysterious world of the boundary between dream and reality.

KISARAGI Chihaya sang "Aoi Tori" (Blue Bird).
