So, the grand prize winner is "Re:Stage! Dream Days♪"! It was a home run, a reversal (?) from the second place of summer anime. It was a home run. Based on a novel serialized in "Comptiq" (KADOKAWA), it is an idol story about junior high school girls. Although the subject matter is rather overconsumed, it was above all a very carefully crafted story.
The drama leading up to the main character, Maina Shikimiya, going on stage, and the process of becoming familiar with the dance club. The hand-drawn live scenes and the high quality of the music were also well received by the viewers.
Perhaps the timing of the survey was also good, as it was right after a real event featuring the cast. There are still many plans in progress for the content, so depending on the response, we may be able to expect a second season.
Second-place finisher "Rifle is Beautiful" was also impressive for its two-sided development, with a carefully crafted main anime and live performances by the cast.
The original work, which depicts the daily lives and club activities of the heroines who devote their youth to beam rifle competitions, is in a sense a standard four-frame manga about high school girls' club activities. In adapting it into a film, the loose atmosphere of the original story was kept, but a sporty anime twist was added.
The unexpectedly hot development of the story betrayed viewers' expectations in a positive way, and it successfully garnered a large number of votes.
One of the trends of anime in 2019 seems to be this kind of "It's not what I expected ......, but it's good!" It seems that one of the anime trends for 2019 is this kind of "It's not what I expected but it's good!
No. 8, "Flagging! Kemonomichi" was also a very good story about a chemomaniac pro-wrestler who is reincarnated in another world and establishes a pro-wrestling organization to open a pet store, but it ended up being a hot drama on the mat. The common feature is that all of them are sports films.
The common thread that runs through all of them is that they are all based on sports. The drama may be heavy if it is a serious life-and-death drama, but if it is a sports drama, it can end on a brisk note.
With the Tokyo Olympics scheduled to be held in 2020, sports dramas are likely to attract even more attention in the future.
Third place went to "Kaguya-sama ga Kesshirasai - Tensai-tachi no Koi Toushi Brain Battle. The theme song by Masayuki Suzuki, a super new animated song singer, attracted attention, but the serious yet comical depiction of the game of love was also a topic of conversation. The film's content, which depicts the game of love in a serious yet comical manner, was also a topic of discussion. This is also a good betrayal.
The second season is scheduled to begin airing in April, and many votes were cast in anticipation of it.
As works that can be enjoyed carefully, we would like to recommend "Honshushoku no Gekkoukoujo: No Means to be a Librarian" ( No. 4) and "Kemurikusa" (No. 9).
In "Honkaku no Gekkoukoujo," a book-loving female office worker is reincarnated as a girl in another world. In a medieval fantasy-like world where the culture of books does not exist, the story of how she uses her knowledge of modern Japan to improve her quality of life is very poignant. The simulation element of how a new culture will be accepted in the society seems to have been well received by older viewers.
In ninth place was "Kemurikusa," an original work by "Kemono Friends" director Tatsuki. Kemurikusa" was chosen by Akiba Research Institute users, although the two titles tended to be compared since "Kemono Friends 2" was also broadcast during the same season.
The story follows the same road movie-like development as "Kemono Friends," in which the characters travel with friends to solve the mysteries of the world, but with a more mysterious, post-apocalyptic (a work set in a world after the collapse of civilization), science fiction-like worldview.
An oddity was "Nurupeta," which came in fifth place. It is a short animation with a slapstick style, but the madness that is glimpsed here and there is irresistible. The performance of Rena Ueda as Peta-robo, who exudes a madness that is somehow exacerbated by her great affection for the character, is the most appealing aspect of this work.
Seventh-place finisher "A High School Girl's Wasted Life " was another work in which the performances of the cast shone. Chinatsu Akasaki's performance as Nozomi Tanaka, a.k.a. "Baka," was both annoying and cute at the same time! Ms. Akasaki's annoying performance as Yasuna in "Kill Me Baby" is now considered legendary, and her performance in "Baka" in this film continues in that vein with the most annoying and funny performance. Personally, I think the film was worth seeing for that reason alone.
Lastly, I would like to introduce the biggest hit of 2019 , "Demon Slayer.
The anime slowly gained popularity as soon as it started airing, and by the time it entered its second season, its popularity exploded! It is now a hit that has become one of Japan's most popular contents, and is currently on a hit streak.
Although it was ranked 6th in this year's survey, a movie version is scheduled to be released in the future, and it seems that its popularity will not diminish anytime soon. If a second TV anime season is produced, that may be the time to win the grand prize. ......?
So, the top 10 works selected from among many others were all masterpieces and talked-about works, I think.
Of course, the works ranked 11th and below are also guaranteed to be interesting, as they are representative of each season. Please take a look at the results!
