The "Lesser Students of Magical High School" series (written by Tsutomu Sashima, illustrated by Kana Ishida), published since July 2011 by KADOKAWA's entertainment novel publisher Dengeki Bunko, has sold a total of 10 million copies with the publication of "Lesser Students of Magical High School (30): Retribution," on September 10, 2019 (Tuesday). The number of copies sold exceeded 10 million.

The Dengeki Bunko "The Lesser Students of Magical High School" novel series depicts the tumultuous days at a magical high school in a world where magic has been established as a real-life technology, with a focus on Tatsuya Shiba, the older brother with a certain flaw, and his younger sister Miyuki Shiba, who has excellent grades. The series has been published in 33 volumes, and has been developed in a wide range of media, including TV animation, film animation, game adaptation, comic book adaptation, production of goods, and publication of spin-off novels.
