Scheduled to start airing in January 2020! 25th anniversary project "Magician Orphen Hagure Tabi", comments from Yoko Hikasa & Daisuke Namikawa!

A completely new TV anime "Mage Orphen: Hagureta Tabi" is scheduled to be broadcast in January 2020.

The "Magician Orphen" series by Sadanobu Akita was released by Fujimi Fantasia Bunko and sold over 12 million copies in total. 2011 saw the relaunch of a new series, a sequel to "Hagure Tabi," with a new publishing company, TO Books. At the same time, the old series ("Hagure Tabi" and "Reckless") was reprinted in a new edition, and the total number of copies of the new edition has exceeded 600,000, making it a popular work.
In 1994, when the first volume was released, the light novel genre had not yet taken root, and the work added sometimes comical and sometimes serious elements from the royal road and orthodox fantasy of "The Lord of the Rings" and "Dungeons & Dragons," defining the light novel genre itself as we know it today. The series has been a huge hit, with a total of more than 12 million copies sold. The series is a milestone work in the light novel genre that became a huge boom in 1998 and 1999 with two anime adaptations, CDs, games, and other large-scale media mixes.
The series is celebrating its 25th anniversary, and it has been announced that a completely new TV anime will be produced in 2020.

Character introductions and cast comments

Azalee (CV: Yoko Hikasa)

Comment from Yoko Hikasa
Azalee is like a family member and a big sister to Orphen. She can be mischievous and childish, but she can also be ruthless in pursuit of her own goals.
I am nervous about playing a character who has been loved by fans for a long time and whose predecessors have played the role for generations. I will put my heart and soul into my performance so that as many people as possible will be able to see it!

Child Man (CV: Daisuke Namikawa)

Daisuke Namikawa Comment
I am the master of Orphen, and I have a different taste from that of 20 years ago.
I hope you will enjoy the development of Childman as well.
I hope to make this immortal masterpiece as exciting as it was 20 years ago!
