Switch "Mario & Sonic AT Tokyo 2020 Olympics" details revealed. Original "Dream Games" and mini-games set in famous Tokyo landmarks.

Sega Games has released detailed game information for "Mario & Sonic AT Tokyo 2020 Olympics" for Nintendo Switch, which will be released on November 1, 2019 (Friday)! Information on the game's original competition, "Dream Games," as well as mini-games set in famous Tokyo landmarks, has been revealed.

Introduction of Games 1. Dream Race "Dream Racing

This is a racing game in which eight players compete simultaneously in a game original competition.
The stage is "Metropolis," a well-known Sonic stage. Riding a floating airboard, the riders aim for the goal, making full use of skateboarding techniques.

The course features banks and jumps, as well as rails for grinding and sliding.

Also, each character's original special trick can be activated when the special gauge is maxed out by performing a large number of tricks. When touching the item boxes on the course, various items will appear, which can be used to attack rivals, such as accelerating for a certain period of time.

Competition Introduction 2. Dream Competition "Dream Karate

An original competition based on karate, this fighting game pits four characters against each other in a battle formation. Players can enjoy "individual battles" in which everyone becomes a rival, and "team battles" in which they can form tag teams to fight against each other.

Players use attacks and items to blow away their opponents and turn panels of ground into their own territory. The character with the most territory at the end of the time limit wins.

The stage is based on the motif of the Mushroom Kingdom, with the Odyssey and Crazy Cap, not to mention Peach Castle, as the backdrop.

Mini-game 1: Tokyo Tower Climbing

In this climbing game, players control Tails as he flies from hold to hold, aiming for the top of Tokyo Tower.

On the way up, there are spiked balls that block your way, springs that allow you to take shortcuts, and bumpers that will bounce you if you hit them. The bumpers are dangerous, but if you use them properly, you can bounce your way up like a pinball.

Mini-game 2: "Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building Tackle & Shoot

In this mini-game, you control Luigi as he plays an irregular game of rugby against the eggpawns in the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building.

First, while avoiding the egg pawns that attack you, tackle an egg pawn with a ball firework and take the ball firework. After getting the fireworks, enter the kick zone in the center of the square to score a special try.

In the shoot mode after scoring a special try, watch the gauge carefully and kick the ball fireworks! The game is cleared when you defeat Metal Sonic with the ball firework.

Mini-game 3: "Kabuki-za Shot

In this mini-game, Tails uses his archery to battle the egg pawns that have taken over the Kabuki-za Theater.

Egg pawns throw spiked iron balls, which can be shot with arrows. The game is cleared when all the eggpawns are defeated.

Mini-game 4: "Shibuya Scramble Search

In this mini-game, Luigi uses binoculars to search for Kinopio at a crowded Shibuya intersection.

Mini-game 5 "Tokyo Skytree Fight

A mini-game in which Luigi controls Tails to fight off a large number of Hey-Ho's that have appeared. The player must defeat them with a series of thrusts and kicks, as well as with a powerful shower of kicks.

If you are hit by a spiked iron ball or a firework shell thrown by the heyhoes, you will be knocked unconscious and your time limit will be reduced by the amount of time you have.

Fireworks can explode when attacked. If used properly, it is possible to blow up a wide area of Heyhoes.

Mini-game 6: "Shooting over Tokyo

This is a side-scrolling shooting game in which the player fights a large squadron of Eggmen in an airplane. The player's plane can attack with rapid-fire and tame shots.

By doing somersaults, the player can release a shockwave that can erase enemy bullets or stop their movement while avoiding enemy attacks. However, it cannot be used continuously.

Mini-game 7: "Shinkansen Sprint

A side-scrolling running game in which Sonic chases after Eggman's bullet train.

Press the buttons to run, and jump to avoid obstacles. Use items to disable obstacles and boosters to increase your speed and get to Tokyo Station before Eggman does.

Mini Game 8: "Sumida River Boat Ride

Mario and Bowser race down the Sumida River in a boat in this side-scrolling racing game. Use up and down lane changes and wave jumps to avoid houseboats and pukupuku.

Use turbo acceleration to increase your speed, but your gauge will be consumed. Use it carefully to avoid overheating.

Mini-game 9. "Highway Chase

This is a racing game in which Sonic runs and chases a cab. Dodge obstacles and hit Eggman's cab to stop it.

Mini-game 10. "Museum Sneaking

A museum full of Bowser's minions. Sneak through the museum while hiding.

Watch out for enemies' movements, advance without being spotted, and collect keys to open doors. You can open the doors hidden in the stage by pressing the A button.
