When Amemiya Ten gets drunk, he turns into a Himuro! An interview with Amemiya Ten, Hara Natsuko, and Omori Himasa, looking back on the middle stages of "A science student fell in love and tried to prove it!
A love comedy "Rikekoi" (nickname: "Rikekoi") is a love comedy in which a man and a woman in science, Shinya Yukimura and Shobu Himuro, scientifically prove their love.
This work, in which two people seriously engaged in the "science" of romance are portrayed in a funny and comical manner, is now entering its final stages! We asked Amemiya Ten (who plays Himuro Shobu), Hara Natsuko (who plays Kanade), and Omori Himasa (who plays Kouta Ena) about the highlights of the show so far and what to expect in the future!
*Some character descriptions were incorrect and have been corrected.
What happens when Ten Amemiya drinks?
───It has been about two months since the show began airing, but how has the response been from viewers?
Amemiya: I often hear people say that the work itself is interesting and that it makes their hearts ache. Also, the relationship between Himuro and Yukimura, which is not progressing very well, is very painful and embarrassing, so it is hard for me to watch it (laughs). (Laughs.) I hear people say they have to endure that while watching the show. I understand that!
───Which scene in "Rikekoi" up to episode 8, which is airing on TV at the time of this interview, left a particularly strong impression on you?
Amemiya: Episode 6, "A science student fell in love and tried to kiss her." I think it is the scene in which we all do the mood value experiment together in the That's the only time everyone in the Ikeda Lab does an experiment together.
Hara: With Ikeda-sensei too (laughs).
Ohmori: Spine-ta was also participating in the scene with great gusto.
Amemiya: Surprisingly, experiments are often conducted by the three of us, Himuro, Yukimura, and Kanade-chan. Kanade-chan is always involved (laughs), but Torasuke-kun doesn't participate in experiments conducted by Yukimura and Himuro. But only in that episode did everyone participate, and it was fun to discover more about the relationships between the characters. I found out that Yukimura and Spine-ta are like this when they are alone, or that Kanade and Himuro like each other more than I had imagined. It was purely interesting as an experiment, and I love this episode.
Hara I enjoyed the Ikeda Lab's drinking episode (Episode 7, "A science student fell in love and had a drinking session.") Hara: I loved the episode about the Ikeda Lab drinking party. Everyone's true feelings, or rather, what they had been suppressing, came out to the fore, and Himuro-senpai suddenly became very flirty and said, "Shuki! (laughs). (Laughs.) And then there was Torasuke, who became an elementary school student. Kanade-chan was also directed to "look like an old man," so I remember I went all out. Also, we got to see a little bit of Kanade-chan's past, and she showed us a different side of her than usual, such as her hidden parts, so it was a heartwarming episode.
─ ─ It is a gap because we have accumulated so many episodes. By the way, how was the recording of this episode?
Amemiya: The face was different from the usual Himuro. I thought I played Himuro on the edge, but I was directed to "do more" (laughs). (Laughs.) I asked him, "But that doesn't make it Himuro, does it?" I asked him, "That's fine. I was told, "That's fine. You can do it as someone else. I said, "Then you can do it as the normal drunk me!
─ ─ What? You become like that when you are drunk?
Amemiya: Ha-ha-ha (laughs). (Laughs.) I don't say, "I love you! (laughs). I don't say "I love you!" or anything like that, but I get happy and smile all the time. I thought, "That's all right," and I gave it my all.
Hara: I don't go that far as an old man (laughs). But the direction was aggressive: "You can be more of an old man," "It doesn't matter if you're not Kanade," "Go the black Kanade uncle route," so I thought that what Kanade was hiding was very dark (laughs).
Amemiya: Kanade really does have a deep darkness (laughs).
Omori: I was able to play Spine Tada at my own pace. When I saw the two of you here and Torasuke being disturbed, I was thinking "Oh my God" while recording (laughs). It was very interesting from Omori's point of view.
All of them (laughs)
Omori: When I saw Himuro's performance, I wondered what would happen if that was just how Ten-san was, but I didn't think that he really becomes like that when he gets drunk (laughs). (Laughs) I was glad to hear that today. Also, I loved how Tinoda was soothing Torasuke with his bar reading.
─ By the way, what happens when you get drunk, Omori-san?
Omori: I don't think I change much. After I go home after drinking, I just fall asleep. That's why I want to enjoy drinking more.
Amemiya If you drink more, you'll enjoy it more, I'm sure!
Hara It would be fun to have a ricecoy drinking party or something!
Actually, it was super hard. ......The story behind Yukimura x Himuro's "I tried singing" video!
───The other day, "[I tried singing it] Turing Love -Yukimura x Himuro ver.
Amemiya: It was very difficult. It was not originally sung by Himuro and Yukimura, but by the original singers. Both Himuro and Yukimura are very low key characters, so we started from the point of how to sing this song (......).
For example, if we lowered the key of the original song because Himuro's key is low, it would be applied to Yuma Uchida's Yukimura as well. But if we raised the key, it would be different from the character, so we decided to keep the original key. However, that would make the female vocalist's key very high, and it would not be Himuro, so I came to the conclusion to lower the octave, but it was very difficult to get there. ......
So, I had to change the part where I was supposed to sing into lines, and I had to go through a lot of trial and error to figure out how to make it sound like Himuro. Also, since it was a duet, I had a lot of trouble figuring out how to do it without bothering Yuma.
─ I didn't realize there was such a hardship. On the other hand, how about the two of you who were having a lot of fun?
Omori: When we arrived at the recording studio, Ten-san and Yuma-san had already started recording, so we were having a blast while listening to them.
Amemiya: Everyone was so funny, it was really like the characters were having a blast on the side.
Omori: At first, the three of us (Omori, Hara, and Jun Fukushima, who played Torasuke) stood in front of one microphone and recorded. When we tried to record together, Torasuke was too noisy (laughs). So we decided to record separately.
Amemiya: (Mr. Fukushima) was yelling something the whole time. The way he said "Let's prove it" was like "Proof! Ming! Let's prove it! or he would suddenly start singing in the highest key.
─ I was listening to it as if I was Ken Ikeda going to karaoke after a drinking session.
Amemiya I had so much fun that I must have been really drunk.
Hara I was surprised that all the versions I thought would not be used were used. We recorded two versions, the cute Kanade version and the black Kanade version, and the black version was used more or less (laughs). (Laughs.) They also used the yawning voice of Sineida-senpai, and Torasuke's "Aika~! was also used, and it turned out to be a lot of fun.
─ ─ And in March, episodes 9 through the final episode will be aired.
Amemiya: Yukimura and Himuro have been through a lot of experiments and experienced various events, but their relationship really starts from here. It's a development you definitely can't miss, and there are expressions on Himuro and Yukimura's faces that you can only see here, so please enjoy it to the end!
Hara: The second half of the story is filled with episodes of my guess, so it gets more and more enjoyable! As for Kanade-chan, there is a culminating episode where she presents her research up to now, and that episode will be an important key to look back on the story so far and lead to the final episode. I would be happy if you could watch it carefully as it will become interesting in the end.
Omori: In episode 9, various incidents occur as a result of the trip to Okinawa and the appearance of manga artist Arika Yamamoto, which also causes various things to happen to Sineida, so that is a point of interest. The relationship with Torasuke is also very touching and makes me think that it is nice to be "Osanazimimi" (close friends). I hope that you will not forget to watch this heartwarming story as well.
