Video and theme music shown at TGS 2019. New details continue to emerge about the latest installment in the series, "Dragon's Dogma 7"!

Yakuza7: Where the Light and Darkness Go, the latest in the "Yakuza" series, is scheduled for release on January 16, 2020. Two trailers for the film were shown at Tokyo Game Show 2019. Sega Games also announced information on the artist who will be in charge of the theme music for the game.

The first "Yakuza" was created in 2005 based on the concept of "entertainment for adults. The first game, "Yakuza," was created in 2005 with the concept of "entertainment for adults." The game gained popularity for its rich storyline, which is similar to watching a TV drama, and for its challenging elements that allow players to freely explore the town in which the game takes place. The series, which has produced more than 10 titles so far, including spin-offs, focuses on the life of Kazuma Kiryu, a legendary gangster known as "The Dragon of Dojima.

In "Yakuza 7: Whereabouts of Light and Darkness" (hereinafter referred to as "Yakuza 7"), the main character is replaced by Kasuga Ichiban. In addition to the well-known "Kamurocho" in the past series, "Isesaki Ijinmachi" in Yokohama will newly appear. The battle system has been changed from an action-based to a command-based RPG.

The trailer released this time is the same as the one previously shown at Tokyo Game Show 2019." In the "Story Trailer," you can see a part of the story, including how Kasuga Ichiban ends up in Isesagi Ijinmachi after being shot by Arakawa Masumi, the leader of the Arakawa clan, and the three organizations that control the town.

The "Game Trailer" focuses on the system aspect of the game. In addition to the command-based RPG battles, we can see the "jobs" that can be learned by attending Hello Work, managing a company, and the play spots scattered throughout Isezaki Ijinmachi.

The theme song for the game will be performed by Yasutaka Nakata and Shonan Nofu. Yasutaka Nakata has created numerous songs based on an aggressive sound with a unique distortion, and has sung the theme song for the movie "What's Up" and an insert song for the game "Dragalia Lost. He is also active as a producer and is known for having introduced popular artists such as Kyary Pamyu Pyu and Perfume to the world.

Shonan Nofu is a four-member team that sings reggae-style music. Shonan Nofu has produced many famous songs, including "Pure Love Song" and "Water Lily Blossom." They also wrote the theme song for the "Yakuza" series, "Kurohyo 2 Yakuza Ashura-hen" and "Yakuza 0: The Place of Oath. In conjunction with this release, comments from RED RICE, leader of Shonan Nofu, have also been released. For more details, please check the following.

Comment by RED RICE, leader of Shonan no Kaze】 ※Titles omitted
I have worked with Director Nagoshi on the "Yakuza" series, including "Kurohyo 2 Yakuza Ashura-hen" and "Yakuza 0: The Place of Oath", and I always enjoy creating music while sharing the world view and concept of the work from the early stages.

This time, as we are entering a new main character series, we wanted to create a song that would combine newness with the inherent masculinity and passion of "Yakuza," so we asked Yasutaka Nakata to produce the song as a first challenge for us.

Nakata is a personal friend of each member, but since this is the first time he and Yonezu have worked together on a male vocal track, we both hope to put a lot of energy into the song. The songs we have produced with the "Yakuza" series have become important songs for Shonan Nofu's live performances, so we will do our best to make this song an important part of our live performances as well.
