Details of new modes and gadgets for PS4's "Darius Cosmic Collection" are announced!

TAITO has released new information on "Darius Cosmic Collection," a shooting game for PlayStation 4 scheduled for release on Thursday, March 5, 2020.

Darius" is a side-scrolling shooting game that first appeared as an arcade game in 1986. The game was a hit at the time, incorporating many innovative technologies, such as a boss battle based on the motif of aquatic creatures such as coelacanths and sperm whales, a unique system with a branching stage structure, and a large cabinet with three interlinked screens. The series continued to be produced for both arcades and consumers, and "DARIUS COSMIC COLLECTION" is a compilation of some of them. There are two versions: the "Arcade Edition" ("AE"), which includes four arcade versions and seven versions, and the "Consumer Edition" ("CE"), which includes six home video game versions and nine versions, both of which are sold exclusively for download. The AE will be priced at 5,200 yen (tax not included) and the CE at 6,500 yen (tax not included).

The new information reveals details of the modes and gadgets that will be added to the title. Variations include "Training Mode," which allows players to take on any stage with a power-up, "Score Attack Mode," and "Time Attack Mode," as well as the display of boss HP and difficulty ranks.
