Spring Anime "Kingdom (3rd Series)" Unveils Visuals of Qin Dynasty and Joint Forces! Hara Yasuhisa, the author of the original work, also praises it as "more stylish than you can imagine.

Two main visuals from the third series of the TV anime "Kingdom," scheduled to begin airing in April 2020, have been released. Comments from Yasuhisa Hara (original story and supervisor) and the production team have also arrived.

Kingdom" is a TV animation based on the manga of the same title by Yasuhisa Hara, which is serialized in "Weekly Young Jump" (Shueisha). Set in China during the Spring and Autumn and Warring States Periods, it is a Chinese Warring States epic romance depicting the activities of a boy, Nobu (CV: Seiichi Morita), who aims to become a great general, and a young king, Eisei (CV: Jun Fukuyama), who later becomes the First Emperor of Japan. The first TV anime series was broadcast in June 2012, and the second series in June 2013.

The third series, scheduled to air in April 2020, will be directed by Kenichi Imaizumi, composed by Noboru Takagi, designed by Tsune Abe, and animated by Pierrot and Studio Signpost.

Two visuals of the Qin Dynasty and the joint forces have been released this time.

In the visual of the Qin Dynasty, Nobu is holding a powerful sword, while Yosei, Kawarodiao, Wang Yuan, Meng Mochin, and others are looking at him with sharp gazes, showing their great determination to protect the country from the danger of national extinction caused by the attack of the joint forces. In the background, the famous generals of the State of Qin are gathered. In addition to generals such as Jiaogong and Mengwu, expectations are high for the battles that will be waged by generals such as Teng, Huanki, and Wangsun, all of whom are capable of becoming great generals.

The visuals of the combined armies, centering on Yi Moku, the founder of the combined armies, Chunsingun, the Prime Minister of Chuxu, who serves as the general of the combined armies, and Bailei, the leader of the combined armies, as well as Wu Bongming of Wei, Qingsha of Zhao, Ordo of Yan, and Seungco of Han, are all staring at us, and we feel their great determination to "destroy the Qin Dynasty. It is now about a month until the start of the new series of the "Kingdom" anime!
I visited the recording studio the other day, and the inside of the booth was a veritable battlefield with the passionate performances of the voice actors. (And I laughed at the talking Ogiko. (And I laughed at the talking Ogiko.)
The "Goyogun Arc," which will be depicted in the anime, has a design that is more stylish and has more presence than I had imagined, and I am filled with anticipation to see these warriors in action on the battlefield. The music was composed by Hiroyuki Sawano of "Unicorn Gundam" fame, whom I adore! The music is amazing, and just listening to it raises my body temperature (I listen to it every day while writing this manuscript). I can't wait to see this fusion of music and animation! The release of the film is just a few days away. I hope you can wait a little longer while imagining the biggest battle in the history of the "Kingdom" anime.

I was almost frightened by the sheer scale of the battle of Kandogekan, the largest scale battle in the original work, and wondered if it could really be made into a film. However, the entire staff has been working hard every day to express the charm of the original work on film. The entire staff is working hard to make this a work that will be enjoyed not only by fans of the original manga, but also by those who became fans of the Kingdom through the live-action movie. I have been appointed by Mr. Hara to be in charge of character design for the third season, even though this is my first participation in the project. The "Goyo-Gun" version has more characters than the previous version (200 on the original list) and battle scenes, and I had to pursue how I could reproduce armor, decorations, and details without losing the texture and density of the original characters. The staff and cast worked hard every day to express the scale and dynamic nature of "Kingdom" to the fullest extent, and we hope you will enjoy watching it.

<Synopsis>
B.C., in the western part of China's Qin Dynasty, there is a young general, Shin, who dreams of becoming a "great general under heaven," as his late best friend and he had hoped.
He was involved in a coup d'état that took place in the royal capital, and fate brought him into contact with the current King of Qin, Eisei Yeisei, and together they set out on the battlefield to fulfill their own dreams and achieve Yeisei's goal of "unifying China. Overcoming the death of his mentor Ouqi, who died in battle, Shin steadily climbs the ladder to his dream while engaging in friendly competition with other captains of the same generation, including Mouten and Ouhen. Meanwhile, Yomei, too, is working hard to expand his power within the court in order to regain control of the country from his rival, Lu Biwei, with a grand goal in mind.
Meanwhile, the Qin Dynasty succeeded in capturing Sanyang, one of the most important military bases, bringing it one step closer to the unification of China. However, the genius military strategist Li Moku of Zhao State, who felt threatened by this move that could change the power structure of the Seven Kingdoms, launched an invasion of Qin State by a combined force of the six kingdoms of Chuxing, Zhao, Wei, Yan, Han, and Qi, with Chuxing's Prime Minister, Shunshin, as its commander-in-chief.
