Cast interviews】 ※Titles omitted

Ayane Sakura as Cocoa

1) How do you feel about playing the role after a long time, and what was the atmosphere like during the postrecording?
I got along well with everyone, and I could barely keep up with Cocoa, whose comic ability was improving every time I saw her (laugh). (Laughs) It had been two years since I had done postrecording, but I didn't feel that at all. The high school students had radio programs, and we had been recording character songs for a long time, so I had the opportunity to be involved with the productions quite often. Maybe that's one of the reasons I didn't think it had been a long time since we had worked together. It was as if we had been dubbing together the day before yesterday, and the cast and staff had a lot of fun during the recording.

(2) What scene would you like the audience to see?
I want the audience to see Chino-chan's efforts, but I also want them to see the older sisters who are watching over her. They all have their own unique ways of cheering her on, so I think you will be able to get emotionally involved in the story.

Who is your favorite character?
Father Lise! Everyone's favorite fathers appear in this production as well. When I hear their voices during postrecording, the atmosphere instantly changes. I think it's wonderful that the fathers fit in with the atmosphere of "Gochiusa".

4) Please give us a message.
It's been a while since I've made a film, but I'm sure it will be the "Gochiusa" that everyone is looking forward to and will be able to come back to. So please feel free to come back! We are going to continue with the third season, and I look forward to working with you there as well.

Inori Minase as Chino

1) How do you feel about playing the role after a long time, and what was the recording atmosphere like?
During Anime Japan, I was told that the OVA would feature a scene from a music concert, which is also in the original story. When I heard that the story would depict various songs while showing the characters' individual personalities, I was looking forward to it. I have sung many character songs in the past, but songs and the main story have not often crossed paths, so this was a new experience for me. The postrecording was the same as usual, but it has been about five years since the first recording. In the meantime, I, Inori Minase, had improved my comic ability, and it showed up in the test.... That makes me happy and also makes me feel sorry for Sumimasen. I felt that I had become brighter without realizing it (laughs).

(2) What scenes would you like us to see?
Chino's childhood also appears in the film, so I want the audience to see Chino's different facial expressions from now. I think you can understand why Chino has been exposed to music so far. Chino's mother will also appear in the film, so I hope you can look forward to that.

Who is your favorite character?
Of course we can't miss Chino's mother. And Tippy. In one scene, there is a cut where she is on the head of someone other than Chino, and it made me feel really sad. I was happy to see how much he missed her, and I also felt like he was my grandfather! It made me feel like "Grandpa!

4) Please give us a message.
I think this film is full of happiness. I think the essence of "Gochiusa" lies in its tender and tearful parts, and while the previous "Dear My Sister" depicted the bond between sisters, this time too, the connections between people and families were carefully depicted. I hope you will watch it again and again.

Risa Taneda as Lise

1) How do you feel about playing the role after a long time, and what was the atmosphere like during the recording sessions?
This time, there were many scenes in which I trained Chino as an instructor, so it reminded me of the training in the first season (the 5th), and I felt nostalgic, like going back to the beginning. I enjoyed playing the role of Lise this time because she was like a protector, while also giving the impression of a supportive older sister. The recording session was lively, and when I was talking with the staff in the booth, I couldn't help but laugh when one of them said, "It's so noisy even outside. At that time, there were four people in the lobby, Chimame and Cocoa, and they were having a farce of a time there as well.

(2) What scene would you like us to see?
I think the singing scene is a highlight because not only Chino but also other characters suddenly start singing or humming a lot. And not only the main character sings, but also this character sings! I was moved to tears when I heard that not only the main character sings, but also this character sings! I think that will bring tears to the eyes of Chino-chan lovers!

Who is your favorite character?
Of course Chino, but of course Lizet. I think there are people who like Lise's special training-like and military-like calls, so I hope they will enjoy it.

Please give us a message.
The cast has been loved by many people for a long time, and the cast is made up of members who would not have been able to come together if not for this production. There are veterans and characters of various ages, and it is a very family-oriented work, so please feel not only the cuteness but also the warmth of family in "Sing For You". When you watch the OVA at home, it might be fun to sing along while watching it.

Satomi Sato as Chiya

(1) How do you feel about playing the role after a long time, and what was the atmosphere of the recording sessions like?
It's been two years since Dear My Sister, but during that time I've been doing events and singing songs, so it doesn't feel like it's been a long time. I was surprised at how I was able to play the role of Senya without being conscious of it. The recording sessions were also very friendly. Cocoa's father had just appeared in the original work, and I heard the cast members talking about who would be the voice actor.

(2) What scene would you like the audience to see?
I think everyone will pay attention to the chorus scene where Chino-chan sings her solo. Personally, I would like to see the scene at the first karaoke contest in Amauagian. If it's the first time, maybe they are planning to have the second time as well (laugh)?

Who is your favorite character?
Tippy. He is crying a lot. I think it's really cute to see a grandfather crying like that! And Motomu Kiyokawa's performance is really charming!
I don't mean to be rude to a senior actor, but I think Tippy's crying is noteworthy!

4) Please give us a message.
When I was doing the radio show, I received e-mails from people of all ages. I hope that many of you will watch the OVA of this cute world with your family and friends, and let your hearts jump with joy and wait excitedly for the third season. Besides, I am singing "Senya..." this time! I hope you enjoy it!

Marei Uchida as Sharo

1) How do you feel about playing the role after a long time, and what was the recording atmosphere like?
There are not many actors who play the role of a sharp-tongued character in this work, so I was relieved to be in the same position as before, but I was also very vocal in every scene I appeared in, so I felt like I was playing Sharo! Although it was only 25 minutes long, I felt that the work was full of each character's personality. There were many scenes in which Aoyama-san looked at me one-sidedly, and I remembered that we sang a character song together ("Yumemi Flavor").

(2) What scenes would you like us to see?
I'm looking forward to seeing the singing scene, since the characters sing in the OP and ED, but I don't think there are many scenes where the characters sing and dance in the main story.
I would like to see them sing and dance. The songs are played rather well, and there is even a scene with Sharo on stage (laughs).

Who is your favorite character?
I think Chino-chan. There are two groups, the "swingers" and the "swingers," and I felt like Chino-chan was being swept along either way, so I thought she was cute.

4) Please give us a message.
I had not done postrecording for a long time, so I really enjoyed it! Sing For You" is a film filled with the charm of each character, so I hope you can enjoy this cutie in the OVA before the third season!

Aozora Tokui as Maya

1) How do you feel about playing the role after a long time, and what was the atmosphere like during postrecording?
It had been a very long time since I did postrecording, but during that time, character songs were released and I had opportunities to play Maya, so I didn't feel like it had been a long time. Once the postrecording started, I felt at ease that it was the usual "Gochiusa" world, and it gave me a warm feeling.

(2) What scene would you like us to see?
In terms of Maya, a new team was formed with Maya, Meg, and one other person. That was cute, and I felt like this could be taken in by anyone, so I felt like it was a stretch (laughs). (Laughs) Also, there is a lot of singing, so I think the singing scenes are the highlight of the show. When the recording was done, there was a tentative song in the recording, but it still made me cry a lot, so I am sure I will cry a lot when it is finished.

(3) Who is your favorite character?
Chino-chan is noteworthy, but there is a scene where Takahiro-san pushes Chino-chan's back.
I was impressed by the way he encouraged Chino in a straightforward manner, and I thought they were a wonderful family.

4) Please give us a message.
I am very happy to see all the cute people of "Gochiusa" after a long time. I myself was able to see it as one of the older sisters cheering for Chino-chan, so I hope that you will watch it as if you were cheering for her, too. I hope you will watch it with your family or with people from all walks of life.

Rie Murakawa as Meg

1) How do you feel about playing the role after a long time, and what was the atmosphere like during the recording sessions?
I was surprised to hear that it has been 2 years since Dear My Sister! I didn't realize that much time had passed! I was surprised to hear that two years had passed since Dear My Sister! But nothing had changed in terms of the atmosphere. It was the same old "Gochiusa" in a good way, and there was still "Gochiusa" there! So I enjoyed the postrecording as well. Maybe it was because I had done a lot of recording as Meg, but I didn't feel like it had been a long time since I played Meg. I thought that was one of the great things about "Gochiusa".

(2) What scene would you like us to see?
For Meg, I would like to see the chorus scene where Chino-chan, who is assigned a solo part, is nervous, and Mame soothes her. I wasn't sure how it would turn out during the postrecording stage, but it was already cute as it is now, so I'm excited to see how it will turn out when it's finished.

Who is your favorite character?
The fathers. In the scene where Chino-chan's mother is singing, the two fathers are standing next to her! I recommend that scene because I think everyone will be surprised by it! I think you will be surprised by that scene, so I recommend it!

Please give us a message.
The content of the story is the same as the original story, so for those who have been supporting us since the original story, I think they have really been waiting for it. Once again, I realized that there are many different kinds of bonds. I hope you look forward to it, and in a good way, I think it will be the same "Gochiusa" as usual, nothing has changed!

Saori Hayami as Blue Mountain Aoyama

1) How do you feel about playing the role after a long time, and what was the atmosphere like during the postrecording?
I enjoyed the postrecording. When I play Aoyama-san, I feel excited, or rather, my heart is filled with joy, and I enjoy playing Aoyama-san because she never wavers. Hearing everyone's voices made me feel like I was back even more! I felt like I was back.

(2) What scene would you like us to see?
From Mr. Aoyama's point of view, I would like to see Shallo-chan's reactions on stage and her unique perspective when she sees everyone singing and getting excited. I hope you will watch the scenes because I think they show Aoyama-san's unique style, including his reactions. The other thing I would like you to see is the music scene as a whole. This time, the theme is music, so I think you can enjoy "Gochiusa" in a different way. I don't think there have been many places where character songs and songs are fused together.

Who is your favorite character?
It's all of them! I want people to see how they interact with each other! It would never be possible with just one person. All of the characters, including the father, mother, and family members, are noteworthy.

Please give us a message.
During the recording, I talked with Marei about how many years ago was the start of "Gochiusa"? We were talking about how long ago "Gochiusa" started. It has probably been 5 to 6 years already. We kept talking about how deeply moved we were by that, and I realized how fortunate I was to be involved in a work that has lasted that long. Besides, the fans of "Gochiusa" are passionate and warm. I am filled with gratitude to them because I feel that they have been living with this work with a good sense of temperature. The title "Sing For You" is a big "For You" to everyone, and I hope you will continue to support "Gochiusa" in the future.
