The 59th All Japan Model Hobby Show was held from September 27 (Fri.) to 29 (Sun.), 2019, in Hall A of the Aomi Exhibition Hall at Ariake Big Sight in Tokyo.

This year, the 59th All Japan Model Hobby Show was moved from the East Hall to the newly opened Aomi Exhibition Hall. As in previous years, many hobby manufacturers and related companies exhibited their latest items at the show.

Among them, Bandai attracted the most attention.
In addition to items related to "Gundam," which celebrated its 40th anniversary this year, a wide variety of products featuring old and new characters were on display for visitors' enjoyment.

Among them, here is one that caught Akiba Research Institute's attention.
Gundam G40. KEN OKUYAMA DESIGN" led by Kiyoyuki Okuyama, an industrial designer, will release "HG Gundam G40 (Industrial Design Ver.)" in December, which is a three-dimensional Gundam designed from an industrial design perspective under the theme of "From Anime to Real. The product will be released in December, and a video work is also scheduled to be released this winter.
This product features a new interpretation of design not seen in conventional Gunpla, including a wide range of movement on a single axis, just like the human body, and the same boxy waist part shape and large range of movement as in the anime.
Many visitors at the exhibition were interested in the gimmick.
