Display your Shokugan figures more coolly! I played with Bandai "FW GUNDAM CONVERGE #18" on a "Shokugan base"! Recommended! Shokugan Road Vol.7

Hello everyone! This is Kariyasu☆, a hobby writer. In this corner, I will be reviewing, modifying, and playing around with Shokugan kits that interest me, under the theme of "Shokugan for adults. In this 7th installment, we will be looking at the "FW GUNDAM CONVERGE #18," which will be released by Bandai on March 9, 2020!

The popular "FW GUNDAM CONVERGE" series has been loved for a long time, and now comes the 18th installment in the series! Newly joining the lineup this time are

1. V2 Gundam
2. gun blaster
3. kempfer
4. gym commando (colony battle spec.)
5. Jim Command (space battle spec.)
6. Gundam Geminus 01

There are 6 kinds of Gundam Geminus 01.

The contents are very simple. Just by assembling a few pre-colored parts, a powerful machine can be completed in no time! This series is only 55mm in height, making it a miniature size that is perfect for collecting, yet it is also very well designed to capture the characteristics of the aircraft. Below is an introduction to each model.

V2 Gundam

Gunblaster

Kempfer. The "Giant Buzz" on its back can be held in the hand.

Jim Command (Colony battle spec.)

Jim Command (space battle spec.)

Gundam Geminus 01

Let's play with the Shokugan base!

Since just displaying it as it is is not enough, let's play with it using the "Shokugan base" that will be released on March 23, 2020!

All parts are clear and include a base, two pillars, clips, two types of base connecting parts, two types of structure parts (wall parts), and structure connecting parts. one of the two included structure parts is a flat wall with no mold in common, and the other is a wall with a "building", "mechanical", "mechanical", "building", "building", "mechanical", "building", "building", "building", "mechanical", "building", and "building". One of the two structures is a flat wall, and the other is a building, mechanical, or rock, randomly selected.

The "CONVERGE" series has a 3mm hole on the sole for insertion, so the arm of the base can be directly inserted or displayed with a clip as shown in the photo. By the way, the structure in this photo is a "building", but it is better to paint it since it is hard to see the molds if it is left transparent.

Using three of the "mechanical" bases, I made a mini-diorama of a Jim Commando unit flying a reconnaissance flight over a space colony! Except for the arm parts, which should be left transparent, everything was sprayed with can surfacer (gray) and painted, and then smudged with dark brown enamel color. After all, painting them gives them a realistic look. However, be aware that the "Shokugan base" is made of ABS, which may be damaged if lacquer-based paints are used!

*Smudging...... enamel paints are diluted with a special solvent and poured into the model's concave areas to darken them and give them a three-dimensional appearance. Once you experience the sensation of the paint flowing smoothly by capillary action, it is inevitable that you will become addicted to it!

The V2 Gundam is posed without clips by inserting its arms into the holes in the backs of its legs, while the Gun Blaster is posed without arms by inserting its legs directly into the joints on the wall.

It is cool enough to display simply without using the arms at all like this. Incidentally, the "building" and "rock" parts that we did not use this time will be made into a diorama for another occasion, so please look forward to it!

You can use the clip to display basically any toy with a 3mm hole (to directly insert the arm), such as the "CONVERGE" series, "SHODO" series, and "G-Frame" series, as well as any other small-sized toy, in a flying state, so you can try it with various other toys. It would be interesting to try it with various toys! Also, the combinations of base and structure parts are infinite, so it should be fun to create your own original diorama!
