Shipments of "Monster Hunter World: Iceborn" exceeded 5 million worldwide!

Capcom Co., Ltd. announced that shipments of "Monster Hunter World: Iceborn," a blockbuster expansion for the "Monster Hunter: World" game for PlayStation 4, Xbox One (available in North America and Europe only), and PC (Steam), have surpassed 5 million units worldwide. The "Monster Hunter" series has been known for its heroic and powerful characters.

Since the release of the first title in 2004, the "Monster Hunter" series has established a new genre of game play in which players cooperate with other players to take on powerful monsters via the network, and the cumulative sales of the series have reached 62 million units (March 2020). The series has grown into a blockbuster hit series with cumulative sales of 62 million units (as of March 13, 2020).

In January 2018, "World" was released, achieving 15 million units, the highest in the company's history (as of January 2, 2020).

Monster Hunter World: Iceborn, released in September 2019, is a very large (paid) expansion to World. It adds new fields and monsters, new actions and quest ranks, and a story that takes place after the ending of "World".

In December 2019, the game received high attention at the PlayStation Awards 2019, which are given to hit titles in Asia, including Japan, and won three awards (including the "World" award), including the "PlayStation Network Award".
