As you can see from the above results, "Jyakami-chan Drop Kick'" was the clear winner of this year's poll. This work is the second season of "Jyakami-chan Drop Kick," which has been airing since July 2018. The first season was a unique work that did not attract much attention when it first started airing, but its fun gradually spread during the airing, and by the time it reached the final episode, it had become a kind of social phenomenon. Even after the show had finished airing, events and other events continued to be held by enthusiastic fans, known as "evil gods," and when a crowdfunding campaign was launched to raise funds for the production of the second TV anime season, the target amount was quickly reached. Since this is a work that is supported by such dedicated fans, it is likely that many of them voted for it in this year's poll, but in any case, the number of votes for this work alone exceeded four digits, showing its destructive power.

The result of "Jyakami-chan" was truly out of the ordinary, but the second place and below were filled with many works that received around 100 votes, making it a round-robin race. The one that came out on top and took second place was "Hachio, that's not true! This work was published on the Web novel submission site "Web Novel Submission Site. This work is one of the so-called "Naro" type works, based on a popular web novel that has been read more than 350 million times on the web novel submission site "Shosetsu-ka Naro. The theme of this work, "reincarnation into another world," is already a common one, but the story is expected to be a kind of "straw man" story in which the eighth son of a poor aristocrat is reincarnated into a situation where he is not expected to be, and he uses his brains to achieve success.

Coming in third place, just 10 votes behind this "Hachio" is "LISTENERS Listeners. This is a completely new anime, which has become a rarity these days, and is an original work created by Jin-san, creator of "Kagero Project," and Dai Sato, screenwriter of "Psalms of Planets Eureka seveN. The only thing that has been revealed is that it is a music road movie with a near-future science fiction worldview, but just by looking at the currently announced staff and cast lineup, it can be said that they are a great group of people, making it a highly anticipated new original work after a long absence.

The above are the top three, but many of the works ranked fourth and below are sequels to popular works, with the exception of "Kakushigoto" (No. 9), all of which are second seasons (or sequels) (including the No. 1 "Jyakami-chan", seven of the top 10 are sequels). The result is a reminder that there are many sequels in this spring's new anime releases. Sequels to popular works tend to have a higher level of expectation since their reputation has been established to some extent, but even so, it can be said that this season's sequels were extremely popular.

This is probably because many of this season's sequels are not only sequels but also complete works, such as No. 5 , "Watashi Ore no Seishun Love Comedy ha Mawatteiru" (My Youth Love Comedy is Wrong! (No. 5 ) and "SWORD ART ONLINE ARIZATION: War of Underworld 2nd Cool" ( No. 6) have at least been announced to be completed, attracting the attention of fans and not just the fans. In particular, "After all, my adolescent romantic comedy is wrong. As for "Kan", the previous work "Sequel" was aired in 2015, so five years have already passed, and as an "Ore ga Il" work that hasn't been seen in a while, it is attracting a lot of attention.

Also, "Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu (2nd season)" and"Kaguya-sama ga Tetsukurasai Desu ka?(2nd season)" and "Kaguya-sama ga Sesshirasai Kaketsukanai? Re:Zero" aired in 2016, the first new series in four years, and sales of character goods and other items have been strong during this period, and the popularity of the series continues to grow. Kaguya-sama" is a sequel after a one-year absence, but its popularity has not waned, with a live-action movie having been released in the meantime. Also of note are the relatively recent No. 4 "Honyaku no Gekkoukoujou: No Means Required to Become a Librarian " and No. 10 "Fruits Basket," both of which are in their second seasons.

Unique among these works is "Kakushigoto " at No. 9, which is based on a comic serialized in "Monthly Shonen Magazine. It is an everyday comedy work about a family of two, a cartoonist father and his only daughter, whose "kakushigoto" (hiding things) is undeniably hilarious. This work is a rare find among the many sequels this season, and is worth keeping an eye on.
